Well, it must have been very meaningful for her, anyway. (Good she is going better, mental health-wise.) Some ppl who can't see the point of tattoos don't see that for others who may be motivated to do it, they can been very meaningful. As I'm sure you've realized.

There have been documentaries on Youtube about tattoo parlors in Las Vegas. (If you like that sort of thing.)

Interesting thought! A lot of Christians do use faith based tattoos as an evangelistic tool; they are proven effective in witness conversations. I saw a quote from the Bible Belt which seemed to show just how widespread they are.

Interesting post! I'm sure your granddaughter looked lovely on her wedding day, whatever views there are about tattoos! Actually these days it seems like the matter of what to do with bridal tattoos is quite an issue for bridal parties to resolve. Like, if the bride decides to cover her...

People's understanding and tastes in tattoos do develop, don't they? It definitely is a personal journey.
