A comment about hair on another thread gave me the idea for a new thread.

Job is indeed an extremely moving book, full of wisdom, so old and yet new.

The Epistle to the Hebrews shows how those who claimed to adhere to the Old Testament in so many ways had far diverged from where - and to Whom - the Word points to. So many of those divergences are with us today among those who profess to be religious.

The point is that making Scripture the yardstick from a well founded knowledge of God's Word is far sounder than mere registering that someone has religious traditions and therefore regarding them as supposedly Biblical

Re. getting up in the morning, a good mental discipline - and spiritually profitable indeed - is making sure that one reads God's Word first thing. Re. hair and combing, keeping hair cut short can be very helpful all round. (Maybe a new thread could be started about it, even.)

There is no ending to circular arguments. (As indeed politicians constantly demonstrate...)

I think the point is that if one can say 'Thus saith the Lord' from Scripture, this makes for sound, Biblical tradition as opposed to human tradition.
