    Healing From Brain Rot

Create bad art. Create for the joy of it. Not to monetize. For the joy of it. There's dust on our souls from the world's pressure to conform. Art dusts it off.

    Healing From Brain Rot

Sometimes motivational content and productivity idolization can be brain rot. Not that Im against all brain rot. Too much motivation (or too little) and you're always discontent with where you're currently at. Too much productivity and you lose who you are.

Any Christians here who also struggle or have struggled with mental illness?

I have struggled. I just don't like being detailed about that here. People love to have "the answer". People don't really understand it all that well and will stigmatize too.

    Healing From Brain Rot

Thankfully, learning to be creative again wasn't as hard as I thought. Our minds can adjust within a few days once we decide to engage with things that require focus. Today was good. I got out a watercolor set and used it in an adult coloring book. I ended up mixing colors with a cup of water...

    The hardest command to obey?

Jesus said not to worry about tomorrow. Not to be anxious about it. My mind loves to come up with concerns that turn into worry. I have to actively practice relaxing and just being concerned with today.

    What's On Your Mind?

Maybe the best way to be a Mom is to enjoy your life with your kids coming alongside that. Sometimes there's so much pressure to complicate things. When I think about it, I don't want to stop enjoying life and self-martyr, resenting my children. I want to be relaxed and happy.

    Exercise as Medicine

I'm adding strength training back in. Its incredible how good I feel after just 20 minutes of working out with dumbbells. Im learning that weight lifting is great for hormone balance as a woman especially, graceful aging, mobility, and confidence. Before I simply wanted the number on the...

    Unfading Beauty: Wisdom from Wives

Sometimes we must give ourselves permission to rest without a self interrogation. Without having justify it a thousand ways.

    Guard your Whimsy

Some days I don't feel whimsical. Im just tired, though it feels wrong to admit it. Sometimes I leave the chores, cut on some music and waste time. I treasure this time. I carry responsibilities as a wife, mother, and homemaker. But even I need time to just be like the lilies of the field...

30 Reasons To Quit Social Media

Thankfully our brains can adapt to change in just a few days. Within a week of being creative and trying to focus more, I seemed to be able to do those things much easier than before.

    What's On Your Mind?

I took a nap instead of chipping away at my to do list. I took the kids to their appointment and the heat simply sapped the life out of me.

    What's On Your Mind?

Let's hope it's nothing serious like you said. Praying now.

    Home as Ministry

Volunteering at church or teaching Sunday school are done where others can see you. Sometimes we crave public piety before our private lives are sorted. In our homes, we have many opportunities to serve God where only He will see. He sees our work and our hearts as we do it. Without someone...
