IMO: The "great tribulation" is noted in Matthew 24:21 and Revelation 7:14 and referenced in Daniel 12:1. It is a Middle-Eastern dispute, and will have no direct impact on the United States. The rapture is pre-wrath, i.e. pre-great-tribulation.

IMO: In the beginning God created the universe, comprised of heavens (not "heaven") and earth (our planet). "Heavens" = outer space. "Heaven" = abode of God, another dimension.
