    “It is finished!” (John 19:30)

I'm sure Jesus would have corrected them in love mostly. Rather than in a fire and brimstone kind of way....from scripture that was reserved mostly for the religious leaders. Have to remember too that Jesus was speaking to His own people......for us that would translate to members of the...

    “It is finished!” (John 19:30)

I don't think anyone should presume to reprimand and rebuke unbelievers, unless they are being unctioned by the Lord to do so. Some save with fear, others with compassion. But I believe most are drawn to Jesus through the love of God. I was too. That seems to be the testimony of most...

    “It is finished!” (John 19:30)

Amen. His word that goes forth out of His mouth does not return void. God's justice was satisfied at the cross for all eternity......for whoever would believe on His Son. Like the spirit of adoption is legally binding too....He is our Father and we His heirs "just as if" we were literally...

    “It is finished!” (John 19:30)

I'm sure Paul was talking about avoiding offending people unnecessarily....for the sake of expediency. For example as a Gentile I wouldn't eat pork in the presence of Jewish people, or serve it to them, when I am trying to share the gospel with them. As long as what you are doing to "blend in"...

    “It is finished!” (John 19:30)

Amen. Jesus stood in for us by proxy, which is as legally binding, so to speak, as if we were on the cross.

    “It is finished!” (John 19:30)

I believe Jesus no more literally became sin than we are literally righteous in our own right. But He was "numbered" (counted/reckoned) with the transgressors, so that we through faith could be counted/reckoned as righteous.

    “It is finished!” (John 19:30)

I think John 17:4 is like where Paul said he had finished his race when he was about to die, but of course before he died. (And just to say, Jesus drinking the sour wine reminds me of Gethsemane where Jesus asked the Father to take this cup from Him, but nevertheless not my will by thine be done.)

    The Book of Remembrance

Who then is "saved" to "outer darkness" for eternity? Is he saying the book of remembrance people are another group..? The point is that Epi says lots of things that aren't explicitly stated in scripture and you don't require him to produce such scrips.

    The Book of Remembrance

Where does it say in the bible that the book of remembrance is for believers who will be cast into an eternal "salvation" of outer darkness?

    The Book of Remembrance

Old testament faithful God fearing souls could not receive the new covenant because Christ had not yet been crucified and resurrected. They had to wait for the new covenant to come along, that we would all enter into it together so to speak. Heb 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the...

What Is Episkopos Really Teaching? Read His Own Words

Those are all terms for the same thing........God's wrath. And I have reconciled those scrips. Of course I believe there will be different rewards for each person depending on God's judgment of all the factors of their lives/hearts.......but sister, outer darkness is punishment, not salvation...

    The Book of Remembrance

It seems obvious that outer darkness and weeping/gnashing of teeth refers to punishment, not salvation from punishment. Can't think why God would want to "remember" to punish and cast those into outer darkness forever where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth........for being righteous in...

    The Book of Remembrance

Names written in the book of remembrancer were those the Lord was going to SAVE, ie, grant eternal life to, out of Israel.....but they would not be made "perfect" before the church and the coming and crucifixion of Christ when He descended and preached the gospel to them.....many of them were...

    The Book of Remembrance

It was written to the Jew first. But as a parable for the church, the book of remembrance is an allegory for the book of life, It is not what Epi is saying it is.

Collapse of the twin towers in 2001. An engineering perspective

What matters is what the Lord says to us about the commitment of marriage in His word. There are ways that seemeth right to man, but aren't. And I just want to add that it's understandable to feel hurt and angry in a situation like this, but we are not to LIVE by our emotions but rather by...

What Is Episkopos Really Teaching? Read His Own Words

You need to reconcile that with Romans 9. There are wheat and tares, sheep and goats IN the house, yes. But what happens to the tares/goats? They are bundled and burned, not saved to anything.....they are the same as the vessels of dishonour of the world.

    Conversation with An Atheist

JESUS THE CHRIST is the only righteous man and prophet God has ordained in the new covenant that one must receive to share in His reward/inheritance. Not any mortal earthly man. (The old testament is full of earthly types/shadows of the spiritual realities of the new covenant.) Please tell...

What Is Episkopos Really Teaching? Read His Own Words

That is the part that I agree with actually. Just don't know how realistic it is for everyone. And it is not a means of earning salvation as such, but springs from what we have already received. I think our job is to run the race with all we've got with what time we have.....and that any...

Collapse of the twin towers in 2001. An engineering perspective

ok, it was just a thought. Of course I know nothing of the details of the situation.

What Is Episkopos Really Teaching? Read His Own Words

Vessels of dishonour are the vessels of wrath, and vessels of honour are vessels of mercy.....Romans 9. Dishonour is not an indication of salvation on any level. Who are the righteous in God's eyes?......those who know the Lord and are obedient to Him.
