What is the purpose of Grace?

2Ti 2:5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he NOT CROWNED, except he strive lawfully. What is the point you are making with regard to James? Hope you aren't saying that what he wrote is not true for and doesn't apply to Gentile believers...? There is only one new covenant for both...

    President Trump is fasting

Man cannot covert anyone....it has to be through the Holy Spirit. And it isn't through "dialogue" but the foolishness of preaching. The bible says friendship with the world is enmity with God. And that we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers but come out from among them and be separate.

What Is Episkopos Really Teaching? Read His Own Words

Something else Episkopos is teaching: "We are ALL bought with a price. Jesus purchased back the WORLD (and the church) with His own blood. That is NOT exclusive to believers. Jesus paid for those who obey Him whether they know Him or not." The Book of Remembrance

What Is Episkopos Really Teaching? Read His Own Words

"So what?" wasn't the attitude to false teachers that we see in the new testament. Paul especially fought hard to keep wolves from defiling and deceiving the church.

What Is Episkopos Really Teaching? Read His Own Words

Thank you for bringing this to the forum's attention. I don't know why Episkopos' threads are not at least confined to the Unorthodox section, when his teachings are plainly unorthodox and fly in the face of so many clear and foundational teachings of scripture.

    The Book of Remembrance

God sacrificing His Son is about "my" aspirations? Ah well, you feel free to believe what you will. SMH.

    The Book of Remembrance

Suggest you stop mixing things of God with things of the carnal mind. The Lord is not impressed with the supposed cleverness of man.

    The Book of Remembrance

And just to say, it is both. As usual you are only seeing one side of the coin..........which is very deceitful. The people sacrificed/slew the Lamb, but on the other hand it was God who provided/gave the Lamb to be sacrificed and purposely allowed it in His sovereignty. Remember why Jesus...

What is the purpose of Grace?

James was writing to the Israel of God, not unbelieving Israel after the flesh. Believing Gentiles have been grafted into the Israel of God. I would say that seeking to establish our own righteousness is performance. But submitting to the righteousness of Christ in us is not...

    The Book of Remembrance

Wow, your teaching is actually anti-christ! This has nothing to do with Luther but the simple words of scripture. Jesus was the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Heb 10:9-14 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the...

    The Book of Remembrance

I think we need to be careful not to make these accounts to be saying more than the point they are actually making. Eg, Jesus was showing up the hypocrisy of some of the Jewish leaders........He didn't indicate that the Samaritan was saved. Applying that story to the church, it is true...

    The Book of Remembrance

As I was pointing out in my earlier post, the Book of Remembrance was for OT saints before the cross and new covenant....that they would be "remembered" and granted eternal life when Christ came into His kingdom. There is no book of Remembrance in the NT.

    The Book of Remembrance

"The Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all." Is. 53:6.........which agrees with the allegory of the scapegoat when the priest imparted the sins of the people to it. In other words it is true that our iniquity was imputed to Jesus so that His righteousness could be imputed to us.. That...

    The Book of Remembrance

Except that Jesus was not talking about works apart from faith. By works is our FAITH made perfect. Faith wrought with Abraham's works as it does with ours. We show our faith by our works. So again, it is not works apart from faith. The first and foremost work of God is this: to believe in...

    The Book of Remembrance

Book of remembrance - isn't that the Lord "remembering" His faithful OT saints, to include them in the book of life and new covenant once it was ordained with the coming of the Messiah, His death and resurrection? "that they without us would not be made perfect." Mal 3:16-17 Then they that...

What is the purpose of Grace?

Jas 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the...

What is the purpose of Grace?

No man living is justified before God......in his own right. That is WHY a Saviour is needed. Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law (own righteousness) there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is...

What is the purpose of Grace?

You took that completely out of context. It is saying God would owe it to someone to forgive them (impute righteousness) if it were based on works.......but believers have been forgiven (imputed righteousness) based on mercy and grace, not because it is owed to them as a debt because of works...

What is the purpose of Grace?

Of course it is God who imputes the righteousness..........that is what scripture says and we need to believe it don't we? How can we give God thanks and praise for it if we don't believe it? I don't think we should deny God's word. Righteousness is being imputed because God is not imputing...

What is the purpose of Grace?

Rom 4:1-10 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to...
