"made sin for us" does NOT mean that JESUS Himself has sinned, nor did JESUS become sinful.

It means that JESUS took upon Himself our sins on the Cross = for us, that we may become Sons of GOD

Now that we are discussing Paul, can someone explain this to me clearly: Jesus taught us that He came to divide us, he didn’t come to bring peace but the sword. I see no other way to interpet that as to obey His teachings and resist whatever the world is doing, including your family and friends .
But Paul comes and says that we should blend in, don’t make a fuss about people’s customs and what they eat and drink etc. , basically not to be a nuisance but to adapt.
How do we reconcile these things?

I'm sure Paul was talking about avoiding offending people unnecessarily....for the sake of expediency. For example as a Gentile I wouldn't eat pork in the presence of Jewish people, or serve it to them, when I am trying to share the gospel with them. As long as what you are doing to "blend in" and avoid offending doesn't offend your own conscience or violate God's word. (There is no way to avoid the offense of the cross, for example, without running afoul of God.)

the key difference between much of todays version of offend not
verses the true version of offend not .
They all put GOD first and it was HIM first that was not be offended .
Today its all about not offending those in sin and it dont matter about offending GOD at all .
The devil twisted the offend not , just as he did the judge not , just as he did this love , just as he twists Anything .
JESUS who had told his own not to offend , had also not meant or done so as todays seeker freindly means .
JESUS corrected sins and errors . They not only do not but when one d oes correct sin
Their judge not becometh JUDGE THAT man and cast him out . You see JESUS once said
The world cannot hate you but me it hates for it testify of its works that they are evil . He said that to even his own brethren
WHO did not yet beleive on Him . But to his own he would say MARVEL not if the WORLD hate you
it hated me first . Cause we too by our walk in the SPIRIT and by our testimony do expose the works of darkness .
Now this too is why many in the church re created another jesus . Because THE JESUS dont feed their flesh
but rather exposes their sins . Their jesus over looks sins and even calls good evil and evil good .

As you say dear sister it was all about not offending in meats , drinks and days .
But never was it meant to cover and not expose sins and errors and to just get along and go with the flow of the wicked .
You see their version of love , of offend not , of love and of unity and etc ,
WHY it totally negates DO NOT BE UNEQUALLY YOKED together with unbeleivers .
IT rather teaches them to not offend them , b e like them , find common g round with them .
But now for a startling new flash .

Amen. His word that goes forth out of His mouth does not return void. God's justice was satisfied at the cross for all eternity......for whoever would believe on His Son. Like the spirit of adoption is legally binding too....He is our Father and we His heirs "just as if" we were literally begotten by Him.....thinking about that brings tears to my eyes. God takes His word seriously. We can bank on it. It is solid ground to walk on, as I think of it. He exalts His word above all His name....ie, He holds Himself to His word. He couldn't go back on His word...."you shall surely die", and "the wages of sin is death", so He had His Son suffer and die in our place.

IN THIS LIFE there will be tribualtions , and by the looks of things THE GREAT TRIBULATION will unleash in great fury
in one final and last ditch effort to try and RID the TRUTH and the sheep from off this earth .
Well i dont know about most folks , BUT THIS WORLD never did me any good . IT was not the world and thei false prophets

Thank you for your interpretation Lizbeth. It does make sense not to reprimand people you are trying to educate on the Word. I remember it had a very averse effect on me, when Christians warned me about my sins, or talked about Satan. Back when I wasn’t a believer I mean. I couldn’t be won that way, it had to be done with tenderness.
That is not to say that I don’t fear the Lord today, I do. But first you must experience the love behind the commandments of the Lord.

God was not punishing sin in Jesus - for Jesus committed no sin

God placed our sins upon the body of JESUS = Romans 8:3

For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh,

Sorry but that is not what SCripture says! It says He (God the Father) Made Him (Jesus) to be sin! It doesn't say he placed our sins on the body of Jesus. That is a totally different sentence with a totally different meaning of what Scripture says!

God punished Jesus as SIN! God made Him to be sin.

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Someone on this thread quoted Peter saying Pauls writings are hard to be understood! They are right. This is not a difficult passage. It is hard for people top accept that the sinless savior was made sin by god and was punished as sin.

He did not dsin, nor did he commit sin, He was made sin and as it says, He knew no sin. It seems people have a real hard time understanidng what Paul said.

Let me give an example with a different topic.

The mechanic made the car rust, though it had no rust. Did the mechanic make the car rust? Yes

Did God make Jesus to be sin, though He knew no sin? Yes!

WHEN we read the gospels i want us to look at EVERYTHING JESUS DID and Spoke .
When we read acts look at what they said as well . What a suprise , and what a shock to this generation this will be my friend .
JESUS did not go around not correcting sin and error . OH HE DID .
And unto anyone who even invited this CHRIST JESUS to dinner, TO come into their own house ,

I don't think anyone should presume to reprimand and rebuke unbelievers, unless they are being unctioned by the Lord to do so. Some save with fear, others with compassion. But I believe most are drawn to Jesus through the love of God. I was too. That seems to be the testimony of most, although some do have a testimony of being saved by fear.
