Is GJohn 1.1,2 blasphemous? Sorry but this is too long for most of you.

So that, when I talk about the Trinity, I say, “There is one Godhead, and within the Godhead, there are three distinct Beings: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each member of the Godhead possesses an eternal, infinite, unchanging nature.” This is the kind of article you...

Is GJohn 1.1,2 blasphemous? Sorry but this is too long for most of you.

more on John... So, John, with one stroke of his pen, tells us who the Word (later defined as Jesus) was. Jesus is God! That “carpenter” was God?! A Jew would simply have called this statement blasphemous. But John shows no mercy as he continues. Jesus is not the same as God? We know this...

Is GJohn 1.1,2 blasphemous? Sorry but this is too long for most of you.

Without any introduction, here are the words the Apostle John chose to begin his gospel: EN ARCHi HN hO LOGOS KAI hO LOGOS HN PROS TON QEON KAI QEOS HN hO LOGOS Roughly translated: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John realized the staggering...

The NT manuscripts are full of mistakes

I just looked at the site and it says that the Free version does not have NOTES. I don't know how much it costs but it would be well worth it. I am pretty sure you can highlight a verse if you buy the NET Bible. Sorry, it's been quite a while ago when I bought the NET Bible. I use the Free...

Are we saved by certainty, or by faith? - the mystery of salvation

I am certain of my salvation. The Bible is true and it is from the Bible that I have certainty of my salvation. If I don't have salvation, then the Word of God is a lie. 1 John 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal...

The NT manuscripts are full of mistakes

Pearl, The NET Bible has a Notes section where you can write long notes to yourself regarding a passage. In fact, you are limited to the margins in a physical book, but with notes, you can add as much info as you want. You just have to join. I think it is free. I do have a physical copy myself.

When Did the Gospels First Become “Scripture?”

Remember that in the first century, the Apostles could be consulted if a church wasn't sure if a Gospel was canonical. The Gospels were one of the first writings to be accepted as Scripture. By AD 180 (at the latest) the Gospels and Paul's letters were considered Canonical. Remember Peter refers...

    the objective of Textual Criticism

We have too many ancient manuscripts and translations by which the NT can be reconstructed. This is due to having about 6,000 Greek manuscripts, and 10,000 Latin manuscripts, and another 10,000 translations into other languages. BTW, we have not analyzed all these manuscripts and translations to...

    Islamic Approach to Textual Criticism

What you mention I have heard also, so it might be the case. But I do know that Othman took on a strategic effort to destroy all written Qur'anic manuscripts that differed from the one he liked. Having destroyed all the old manuscripts, the Muslims have a very limited way of supporting any...

    the objective of Textual Criticism

The Text-Critical Case Against Biblical Inspiration seems to imply that if we have anything less than full certainty about the text of the Bible, then we can't have confidence in it or its inspired origin. But this is to ask of history more than it can ever supply. What we should expect from...

    GJohn 1.1 ἦν

Christ as the firstborn, only son, unique son Πίστει προσενήνοχεν Ἀβραὰμ τὸν Ἰσαὰκ πειραζόμενος, καὶ τὸν μονογενῆ προσέφερεν ὁ τὰς ἐπαγγελίας ἀναδεξάμενος, Look at these passages below of Heb 11.17 and see if you see something strange, even contradictory: NASB 1995 By faith Abraham, when he...

For KJV folks, a heads up

Yes, that's right. There was a contradiction in the Hebrew manuscripts, but the KJV added the words "the brother of" to avoid the contradiction.

For KJV folks, a heads up

"{And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam." Notice the words "the brother of" are in italics. That means that do not appear in the...
