I remember getting a cold or some other mild illness a few years ago, and with it came anxiety. It was completely irrational, like I didn't know what if anything I was afraid of. Needed to remind myself of God's promises, and stand by them internally until the feeling passed. As for...

And even the real followers are fake.

Apparently soon to us is not the same as soon to God. If the timing of Jesus' return were known more people would squander their remaining time. So it is likely for the best that no one knows. But throughout my whole adult life I've been anticipating to see it in my lifetime. We have seen how...

It bumps the topic back to the top of the list.

As it is written in the scriptures I believe fornicaters will not enter the Kingdom of God. And yes I believe a live in relationship would be a binding marrage, but my opinion is of the minority.

I think you covered it. I have noticed that when I second guess my first held interpretation of a chapter or verse the new interpretation ends up wrong more often than not. But that may not be the same for everyone.

I don't see how authority vested in an officiating priest through a government that was established by God becomes the only legitimate way to have a marrage. If the governing authority were absolute they could even pair up people without their consent. Or those of the same gender. My point is...

I do not see that the vows are what constitutes marrage, but the cleaving together as in Gen 2:24. Or does God differ to the civil authorities for who is married to whom?

Another one to bump.

We would have to look at what each prophet said specifically, because I don't remember what they all said.

Let's do a little looking back at prophecies that were mostly predicting Trump's victory back in the 2020 election and afterward in the disputes over the results. Lets see if the wording of their prophecies have affirmatively proven the prophecies false, or is there still a possibility for a...

Bump To remind everyone of this topic but I'll keep this one locked as an archive of things said in the past. A new topic may be warranted to further discuss these prophecies

Bump To remind everyone of this topic but I'll keep this one locked as an archive of things said in the past. A new topic may be warranted to further discuss these prophecies.

Bump, because we need to be reminded of what was said in these prophecies from two years ago. I'll keep this one locked as an archive of things said in the past. A new topic may be warranted to further discuss these prophecies.

Perhaps fiction could be made that isn't soulish, exploring something deeper than an emotional narrative arc?

But would God consider this purifying as a work of ours to be rewarded? Or is this more like a minimum expectation?

Or the Kingdom of Heaven is where the Father and Jesus are. And since the kingdom of heaven is within you, that means the ones who dwell there are within as well. And if we consider that the Holy Spirit dwelled between the cherubim, he acted as like a gateway to God in the temple. So it is...

So do I. But you take it to mean he wasn't tempted, it isn't a sin to be tempted.

Very good. I would add the Jesus of Islam, which is viewed as a prophet and not the son of God. It also tends to makes apparitions of his face. I take issue with this one. The bible says Jesus was tempted in every way yet was without sin. The Devil, his angels, Adam and Eve all sined...

Agreed, the good works spoken of here are works God has prepared for the saved to do. I do not see where purifying ourselves is considered a work. It's more like getting dressed in the morning, or feeding yourself. These are things to do in order to get ready to work.
