The Third Heaven - Taken into the Future

As are many things in scripture, the physical is often an analogy of the spiritual. When we read that God has hands, or that He is like a mother hen spreading her wings, we understand what is meant. The three heavens, is I believe, referring to the three spiritual states that man can inhabit on...

The sacrifice was, I believe only for those Jews who were not trusting in God alone for their righteousness as was Job, who sacrificed for his sons and not himself.

marks, it says “The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person. . . . God is with you” 1 Sam 10: 6–7, note, a different person. This is nothing but the new creation in Christ when we are changed like this...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I used to believe this like you, in my Calvinistic days, but I thank my God that He enlightened me and delivered me from this grave travesty, that it had occurred in the first encounter with Him, which is mistakenly called saved/born again. If what you say is true, then half of the new testament...

Jesus only did that when commanded by the Father. He would often escape the crowd to be on His own. Loving oneself is a command. if we cannot obey then there is something wrong with us spiritually and we need help.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Mat.32:29 Thou knowest not the scriptures. True love has no bounds or limits. We can love God 100% yet still love our neighbour as ourselves. You are speaking in worldly terms where we can only spare a certain amount...

We are not to focus on others, but to focus on Christ and love others as we love ourselves. Christ is to guide us in our relationship with others, how much time to give them, what to say to them, whether to break contact with them. With our total focus on Christ, we have zero desire to sin.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

ps Ancient Faith radio seems to have taken its site down. It is quite some time since I was reading the site but I will endeavour to find the source of the quotation.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

The doctrine we have been looking at - entire sanctification, and whether it is possible for man to be without sin in this life, was taught in the early church and called Theosis or Deification, and has been found in the west during the revival years and especially during the time of the...

Here is Chrysostom "Do you also consider what a thing it is, and how great, that Abraham should be sitting, and the Apostle Paul, waiting till you have been perfected, that then they may be able to receive their reward. For the Saviour has told them before that unless we also are present, He...

@marks Here is Adam Clarke in his commentary: Verse 39. Having obtained a good report (having been witnessed to; see Hebrews 11:2) through faith] It was faith in God which supported all those eminent men who, in different parts of the world, and in different ages, were persecuted for...

Indeed all men who are born become sinners but the scriptures tell us to cease sinning. Of course we cannot do that in our own power but the first step is that God reveals to us the truth of the holiness doctrine and He will only do that if we are seeking, hungering and thirsting and knocking.

“The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person. . . . God is with you” 1 Sam 10: 6–7. The Holy Spirit came upon Saul which can only mean he was baptized in the Spirit and further evidenced when scripture...

Man is never in the position that he is unable to sin, so he can fall from entire sanctification. Rather I would say that he is able to not sin.

I am so pleased that the discussion has got back to the basics on holiness and not muddied by previous distractions and terms like higher and lower walk. It makes me wonder what goes on with the time wasting to-ing and fro-wing we see on here. Lets keep on the subject.

I understand your position marks, but even if one man only was given a new heart, ie King Saul, does not that alone say it was available before Christ? The testing point is whether any man was in fact perfect, that is pure and not mature in OT times. My bible says yes. Time is nothing to God...

marks, there were men in the OT who were called perfect like Job which to me says they were entirely sanctified because the two laws from the two trees in Eden have stood since the beginning, and they operated in the tree of life. The law of sin and death and the law of life since the beginning.
