The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

You are taking a very legalistic view, one which ironically is presumed to be the adventist mainstream biblical worldview, which in your post above repeats. See previous post above.

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

I've reposted the following several times on this site, and still believe it is appropriate to this topic... 3 Spiritual laws that govern life. "For I delight in... Law One: ..........The law of God after the inward man".....(Romans 7:22) Paul has nothing but love and respect for God's law. He...

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

I'm not so sure I agree with you. The human problem has never been with the law, but how to obey it, and God's problem is how to reverse that situation. In other words, the problem that God has (which He has resolved through Christ) from the beginning has been determined to accomplish was to...

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

There were different categories of law within the whole context of law given. There were civil laws that governed how the nation was to be governed organisationally as a civil nation. There were health laws including diet and sanitary instructions. There were the laws of course associated with...

The deepest human desire. - The longing to be safe at home.

I experienced the new birth. It wasn't something that was taught. My life, the new mindset and worldview that came with the filling of the holy Spirit and receiving the mind of Christ, is all the proof i need. Along with that came relationship. A personal relationship with God closer than that...

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

The law being written on your heart isn't in the form of letters and words. It's in the form of love for God and your fellow man. In the practice and outworking of that love, the law is fulfilled, "for love is the fulfillment of the law". However, you and I know that there are times when we...

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

All creation testifies to and is operating from the context of law. Science is the discovery of how law governs the planet. Science would not exist without law. Mathematics... Physics... Biology... All governed by laws established by our Creator. Spiritual and human interpersonal relationships...

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

What law then is the foundation of the kingdom of God?

How many former Catholics are here?

You change your position like a fart in the wind. OSAS in the context of abiding faithfully in Christ is a sound concept, but it is conditional. Christ indeed promised that no-one could be taken out of His hand once they accepted Him. My beef with your position is that while you claim the above...

How many former Catholics are here?

How would you know they were out of context when you didn't look at any of them, let alone the context?

How many former Catholics are here?

Actually, that's not true. You brought up the topic when you claimed...

The deepest human desire. - The longing to be safe at home.

Never intended to suggest that obedience was ever only an optional extra. Obedience is absolutely essential to entrance into glory, but our obedience is not the means by which we are justified.

The deepest human desire. - The longing to be safe at home.

That you are by your own confession not born again and hence do not have the Spirit of Christ abiding in you, means that all your teachings are from human reasoning and are limited only to understanding from a human intellect, and bereft of spiritual truth.

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

I think it very naive to believe that of all the kingdoms in the universe and throughout history, the kingdom of God is the only one without law.

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

The apostle Paul did not say the law was transitory. That's you, not Paul. What Paul said was transitory, or as the KJV says, was done away with, was the glory. Not the law itself. “But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel...

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

Surely you aren't suggesting that all of those laws applied only to one nation for a limited time? None of them were designed to govern humanity in general? Either kingdoms of men or the kingdom of God?

How many former Catholics are here?

Or someone familiar with history. And again, you are twisting what I was actually saying. I know you are against OSAS for Christians, including Catholics. But you change your opinion when the discussion turns to the church in general. All of a sudden, your church is OSAS, while every other...

    A Challenge

Compared to what? What I was or what Christ is? To the former yes, decidedly, to the latter, marginally. What's important is not the accomplishment, but the trend. I'm heading in the right direction. If I'm not, God has ceased His work in me, because I've walked away.

    Bible Character?

That's an interesting question. In other words who would you seek out first in the kingdom to chat with? I'm torn between two. Hezekiah always impressed me. As a12yo king he went against status quo, Swam against the current of popular thinking and he restored temple worship in the midst of...
