    ABOUT TIME

Ever considered how tense is used in scripture? Future tense, present tense, past tense? If time is an illusion then there is no old and new; there is only what is and what isn't. Kinda similar to what is living and what is dead.

    About Fasting

Pre figuring a fast is the only way to do it. You don't want to put an onus on God to respond or you'll just keep going and going. Missionary work isn't fasting, they do that too and also spend alone time with God. Your friends may also think you're trying to kill yourself by not eating. So...

    About Fasting

Wanting a closer relationship with God can hardly be considered vanity.

    About Fasting

About Jesus, isn't it interesting during his fast in the wilderness he was hungry, instead of thirsty. I always assumed he fasted the same as moses and didn't drink.

    About Fasting

One doesn't go for a record, because it is vanity and you have wasted the fast.

    About Fasting

This is another reason not to tell people, they will pester you to eat. They say, "Come on eat somthin, Just a little bit." Moses went 40 days and nights without food or water.

    About Fasting

It is clear that fasting isn't merely abstaining from food. It is generally denying the desires of the flesh. Even denied to a degree that would be unsustainable as a lifestyle. Its as though by denying the flesh our spirit is strengthened. But this may just be an observation from our...

    About Fasting

When we fast does God speak to us more often, or does he speak the same amount and we just notice more?

    About Fasting

Oh is that why people fast nowadays. Yea no spiritual value whatsoever if your doing it for health. A long term change in diet would likely be more effective.

    About Fasting

I don't know, perhaps its best to ask those who never fast for their reasons.

I pray it works, and that the underlying cause is remedied.

Should A Minister Charge For His Ministry?

They are either greedy or the church is run more like a business, to bleed people dry. Bet there are weekly lectures on tithing at these places too.

    Does Scripture Endorse Being Derisive?

How often are we actually asked for "the reason for our hope?" Not often, I think this refers to our personal testimony. The only people who have ever asked me are other Christians.

    Neuropathy

I was thinking about a foot bath, worth a try.

    Does Scripture Endorse Being Derisive?

I think it is wrong to deliberately insult and deride. What is the purpose of it but to humiliate. I derive too much enjoyment from seeing the prideful humbled for it to be a good thing. No scripture comes to mind, but I remember we should try not to be offensive.

    Does Scripture Endorse Being Derisive?

You can be harsh out of love, this is discipline. But the world responds with anger, so it isn't productive to be harsh towards nonbelievers.

    Does Scripture Endorse Being Derisive?

Jesus is very protective of his sheep and will get angry at those attempting to harm them. Even when done in ignorance he will have a sharp rebuke ready for them. I think as Christians we need to have the same heart. If this means harsh words are needed, so be it. That said, this happens...
