    Flat Earth Theory

Thanks for a beautiful post Psalm. I also love nature and see the beauty that God created for us. I live in a valley with mountains, hills and lakes all around me, and will never get used to their splendor. I don't mock...but I do find it pretty incredulous that some, today, could still think...

How many former Catholics are here?

I wouldn't say since the day of HER conception... since I don't know when you believe that is. The rest can be true since there is fear of mentioning hell in the CC and sometimes this is necessary.

    Flat Earth Theory

But what do you mean by THE TRUTH? How am I set free if the earth is flat but not set free if it's a globe?

How many former Catholics are here?

Deb, You're doing what many do. WHAT unscriptural beiefs are you referring to? Also, should Protestants that are learning unscriptural beliefs ALSO leave their denomination? And WHO is to determine which are false? I attended a Nazarene church for about 10 years. I hear they now have women...

    Flat Earth Theory

But you said this: "It has HUGE implications that most are unaware of." How does my understanding of the earth being a globe... have an effect on my relationship with God? We know that the earth belongs to the Prince of darkness. We know that science is not always right about everything and...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

How is baptism an ORDINANCE of the church IF JESUS said to do it??? Matthew 28:19 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

How many former Catholics are here?

No. Jesus was a man when He was born a human person. But Jesus ALWAYS existed as the 2nd Person of the Trinity.... The Persons of the Trinity have no beginning...they always were. PS Jesus was a MAN and GOD. This is known as the hypostatic union.

@David in NJ And this: Jesus is the lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Revelation 18:3

How many former Catholics are here?

    1. God lives outside of time. 2. Even those living in the OT times were saved due to Jesus' sacrifice. 3. It's orthodox Christian theology. Can't think of anything else right now.

How many former Catholics are here?

Hi Deb. Nice thread. I am also a former Catholic. Why did I leave that church? Because it had nothing for me. It's better today, but the teachings are still a bit muddled. However, I will protect the CC from all the nonsense that goes on in these forums... all the lies that are told about...

How many former Catholics are here?

Hi David.... Jesus had to die. This took place in the year 30 or so... but it happened before time.

    Hidden Error

But they are NOT today. Jesus didn't tell ALL His disciples to go teach and baptize. He told the APOSTLES. God only knows what a house church would teach. We'd be sliding into cults - which is why it's not advised. Christians are no longer being persecuted as in the early days. House churches...

    Hidden Error

We're in the 21st century Triumph. Could you, like, let go of your hatred? THE CATHOLIC CHURCH DOES NOT BASH PROTESTANTISM. Unless you could post something that shows that it does.

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Baptism may be NOTHING to YOU.... But the Apostles taught that it was necessary. And JESUS said we cannot see the Kingdom unless we are baptized. John 3:3,5 Most likely the water is the water of baptism. And even if not.... JESUS instructed the Apostles to baptize. Must have been important...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Infants are baptized for different reasons these days. In the beginning it was to give them the grace that adults were also receiving. We know this by the writings of the ECFs --- which some refuse to read. Infant baptism does NOT mean that infant will be saved. He MUST, at some point in his...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

    1. Absence of proof is not proof of absence. 2. Entire households were baptized. Acts. 3. There is a SIGN to every Covenant. The the Abrahamic Covenant is was circumcision. Even foreigners were welcomed, but they had to receive the sign. 4. In the New Covenant, the sign is baptism. 5...

Do you believe in biological evolution?

LOL You're an interesting member. Sometimes I don't know what you're talking about! (a bit over my head). (but I do when it comes to theology!).

ARE THE OT AND THE NT INSPIRED?

I DO agree that the bible has its own definition for words. Right. To me it would fall under the explanation of: AN EXTERNAL CREATIVE IMPULSE. Thanks for your input ! Yes, absolutely both the Old and New have divine authority. I've never considered before that inspiration might not be...

ARE THE OT AND THE NT INSPIRED?

Thanks Rasputin. I can understand why/how the OT is inspired... men wrote things that only God would know or would want us to know. Scripture would be a holy writing that is respected within a religion. Inspired means: of extraordinary quality, as if arising from some external creative...
