How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

I'm cuing on what you said earlier. You are over-estimating what being born again accomplishes in regards to the death and resurrection of the saint. You are taking a down-payment...to be the full payment. I suggest reading the parables of the kingdom again. The cost of entering into...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Well thanks for that. But you have been so religiously indoctrinated that you will resist any kind of truth. A man-made institution benefits by getting as many as possible to fill the pews. The public can be VERY gullible when the speaker is talented and draws in the crowd with lofty sounding...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Would that be 2,000 years ago? :hmhehm

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Hurling accusations is NOT participating in the discussion. Stay on topic. Maybe explain what it is that causes you to react? :backtop:

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

What we see in Romans 6 through 8 is a progression...from an initial experience of grace that changes a person forever to a surrendered walk in the full measure of grace over sin, the devil and the world. That initial sample will seem, at first, to be the whole package....until one realizes that...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Anytime the gospel is laid out on any topic, there is will be an inevitable reference to a deeper understanding that just isn't there for most people. So then the nursery begins to fill with tantrums and accusations and self-righteous statements to cover the superficiality of the grasp of the...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

The confusion comes in when you try to synthesize a doctrine or an understanding based on the bible while still walking in the power of the flesh.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

You need to have a convo with the person here who hasn't sinned for 2,000 years...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

The fantasy came when his mind broke and he became a Protestant! Throwing grace around like it was confetti. A fate much worse than death awaits someone like that.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

I'm inferring into your response as I see you inferring into the bible verses. Are you saying that we can eventually die once to sin??? The reading skill issue is in the "once." That idea is that a sinner NEVER goes back to sin...not even once...NEVER. Just like Jesus who knew no sin EVER dies...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

It's like the religious Trump supporters. Oh, he's a man of God, that cheats lies and swindles..sure. But God uses imperfect people...downright sinners...to accomplish the purity of His designs...and such. The same goes for Luther. An OBVIOUS renegade monk....but who strikes a chord in the...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

You presented this verse... “Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more (Jesus); death hath no more dominion over him(Jesus). For in that he died, he died unto sin once (Jesus): but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God (Jesus).” (Romans 6:9-10) Then you said... We die unto...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

I always hate to bring up the reading skills issue...but I answered you...that you read the verse wrong. Do you see that? or do you choose to change the meaning of the words to fit your ideas??? Are you doubling down on a misreading here? Go back and look at the verse you posted. And go from...

Jesus died unto sin once...not us. Read it again...with feeling. :hmhehm

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

The question is...HOW is that accomplished? And all Protestants follow Luther...otherwise they wouldn't be Protestant. I think that people can't be honest about what they really believe. They avoid the truth because it makes them sound...like Luther ...who is the church father of ALL...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

All the trolling silliness takes away from any discussion about things that are important to both convey and understand. So what does it mean to reckon ourselves dead to sin? Do we have an innate power to reckon our sins away? Do we need to go to the throne of grace to receive heavenly power...
