Funny to see you reject and embrace logic in the same post. This is because context is NOT necessary in logic, which is part of its power. All that is necessary is word integrity, I.e., definition. (Mike Tyson is ‘the baddest’ boxer on the planet meaning very good.) By contrast, Context is...

This deserves its own thread.

OK. Let’s examine this claim by perusing a few translations. KJ21 For if we sin willfully after having received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, ASV For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more a...

It does in my translation. Not an answer to my question. A person forced to change their mind is of the same opinion still.

This is Circular Reasoning. P1. People who do X are not ’genuinely converted.’ P2. Person A did X. C. Person A is not ’genuinely converted.’

You hyper-grace folks ignore justice. There is a difference between: one who clings tightly and abides in Christ, doing the commands of God from one who pays lip service to all these things but acts sinfully and habitually. God is faithful to the first group. To the second group, Jesus said...

You are all over the place. I was addressing your supposing I should feel shame for being part of the greatest nation ever. FYI, the rag tag FF broke away from an empire. Their lives preceded America’s ascension to empire. I do. Give unto Caesar what is Caesar’s. These words of Christ...

Nope. It’s not the species of sin but it being habitual. Since I came to Christ, I became more aware of my incidental sin, which caused me to ask more fervently for forgiveness than before I came to Christ. Your Mileage Cannot Vary. While I admit my wife cleaned the kitchen, you seem to...

Thats’s rich! Pun intended. I provided many verses in post 2598. Two things can be true at the same time. I believe these 2 verses can be discerned by Hebrews emphasizing habitual. Honestly, your question is a deflection from Hebrews 10:26 being the EXACT answer to your question. You just...

Not surprising that you don't respond ON POINT to my reply, e.g., the 6 greatest accomplishments where pride, not shame, should be felt!

No, it doesn't just say anything like Jesus dies only once at all. It is the EXACT answer to your question; what sin will not be forgiven. Why do you disregard the explicit statement that there is NO sacrifice for this type of sin; which means Jesus' sacrifice does not cover it; meaning the...

@Jack, I suppose another defect in OSAS is the desire to escape justice, which is based on considering the willful choice people make - not just something incidental. I was in a little fender bender a few months ago. An 18 yo drifted into my lane when I must have been in her blind spot. This is...

I'm disappointed but not surprised that @Jack hasn't accepted this truth after we had a deep dive a couple of years ago. @Aunty Jane has done a very thorough job on numerous occasions explaining how it is an unfortunate and blasphemous Christian myth of ECT, Eternal Conscious Torment. It is the...

In my recent exchanges with @Behold, I got the impression it's a combination of extreme laziness and desire to avoid accountability. Imagine winning the lottery but being too lazy to cash the check, calling it 'works' you shouldn't have to do? Or giving yourself credit for and resenting the...

Hebrews 10:26

My post count is high because I do the same thing; break up long replies into sections. tsml

What a fool! It’s not God‘s gift but how we choose to use it that determines our destiny. You call him Lord, Lord but he never knew you BECAUSE your actions went against God’s will.

Yes, our faith, not Jesus’s faith. It means our action in between Author and finisher.

Matthew 12:50 Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!” Doing = Action = Work. This is different from ‘works’ as that loaded word is used in Scripture. OSAS folks suppose you are saving yourself as a man drowning in rough seas for grabbing hold of a...
