1 Thessalonians 5:3 has nothing to do with your analogy. The analogy is in reference to the end coming suddenly, like when labor begins in a woman. It's about the end of the world when Jesus returns for a second time. Nothing here about being born again. For those reading along: 1...

When all commentaries agree... I'd venture to say that they're 99% correct. If the rain falls on a person, and it means something, that something is what counts...not the amount. I already have stated that JESUS said that all we need is the faith of a mustard seed. Faith saves. It doesn't ever...

I went back and reread your post.... You said: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy.” (2 Timothy 3:1-2, NKJV) Here is what has always been the same because human nature just will not change. LOVERS OF...

That's pretty incredible LoveYeshua! (about the remembering). You should know that the baptism is effectual and you SHOULD NOT be required to undergo another baptism.... which my brother was asked to do before joining a particular denomination. He adhered to their request...I never would have...

Bladerunner... No offense, but it's useless to discuss anything with persons that are way over the edge of Christian theology. Jesus came to earth for two reasons: 1. Atonement for our sins - to be the final sacrifice that will ever be needed. 2. To establish the KINGDOM OF GOD on earth - We...

Why is it one big load Shepherd? Are you not familiar with reformed/calvinist theology? They believe God predestinated EVERYTHING..... including evil and sin. Thus making God evil and a sinner. Of course, some have smoothed this out a bit so as not to sound so damning toward God. But the...

Agreed. But Hasn't it always been this way??

Are you being sarcastic??! :hmhehm Bread and I are discussing infant baptism and how the CC reasons it. I've taught Catholic doctrine which is why I know about it. Nowhere in the NT does it state that the Holy Spirit is dormant. But the church history of infant baptism is very interesting...

page 2 of 2 The above, last paragraph, is so confusing I cannot even begin to deal with it. If a person is a child of God...he is saved...born from above. You even state that they must remain faithful. ONLY those born from above are required to remain faithful. The LOST are not required to...

You're right about the water in John 3:5 Some understand it to mean physical birth,,, some understand it to mean baptism... and some understand it to mean the Word (the written word - God's teachings). I'm trying to establish your EARLY RAIN to the above. It cannot be done with physical and...

OK Even by your words above.... The person SEVERES their tie with God at the age of reason when they decide to live in sin instead of serving God.

Bread... Can't let this go..it's too important. The Holy Spirit BECOMES dormant AT the age of accountability UNTIL the person decides to live for God. Why does the Holy Spirit become dormant at that time? Because the Holy Spirit CANNOT DWELL in a sinful body. Just reply to the above please...

The above is very interesting but I think you've posted more than one idea here. To show how Romans refutes Acts...you'd have to post both and then speak to the difference. Also, you bring up Hebrews 10:4 which is referring to the Mosaic Covenant...thus changing the subject. Also, you're not...

I appreciate that you're trying to help me Joe. I pray God's blessings upon you.

So you're saying that BABES IN CHRIST are NOT born again? If someone is IN CHRIST,,,they are born again. Yes Faith. You HAVE said that God puts faith in us in order for us to be saved. Listen to this: If a person has FAITH.... they are ALREADY born again. What YOU are espousing is that God...

I wouldn't categorize Stephen King as sci-fi. Sci-fi is really good if you read the top writers. Gets you thinking about a lot of things and some even foresaw what is happening today (socially/politically).

Whether or not others agree seems to be of little importance. It's what the mainline churches teach. Some believe in the dichotomy of man: BODY, SOUL/SPIRIT (combined). Others believe in the trichotomy of man: BODY, SOUL, SPIRIT I like the trichotomy better because it helps to understand our...

Sounds good. I have big problems with the symbols since there are so many interpretations. Report back!

Please define the ecumenical movement.

Did I say any of the above??
