So here are my replies: You sound like a non-orthodox Christian.... maybe LDS. So the above is for OSAS: It doesn't exist in the bible... not for the spirit, soul or body. The NT teaches that we are to be baptized for the forgiveness of sins. You're questioning it....maybe...not sure. Jesus...

We just might be on the same page. Unfortunately I don't go through an entire thread so sometimes it takes a couple of posts... I'm sorry for our @Ernie . He has his problems - and don't we all in one way or another. As far as I'm concerned, being saved is very simple: 1. Believe in God...

Of all the alerts to get! It has to be an ad!! It's been reported.

I'm sorry Behold. The gnostics DID teach that sinning was OK because it was THE BODY doing this and not the soul. But there were different types of gnostics. OSAS IS a license to sin. Because it teaches that we can do anything,,,live in any way we want to and still be saved. This must sound...

Is Jesus not the being that taught about the above? Is He not the one that began His church and promised that the gates of hell would not prevail? Are we not taught that in the last days many would fall from faith believing doctrines of demons? What kind of question are you asking? Jesus is...

Agreed. And why would anyone be less certain just because they cannot remember the day/date of their salvation? This would place more importance on the experience than the result... And then we'd have to discuss HOW one can know they are saved. I did list a couple of different ways a person...

The FOUNDATIONS are VERY clear... it's just that some don't care to know them. God has been distorted ---- yes. Christianity has been distorted --- yes. Right now, at this point in my life, these 3 topics are of interest to me: 1. The unbiblical belief of OSAS which is possibly leading some...

You tried Davy. But I can assure you that the above post is not for me. However, it might be helpful to some reading along. You sure do ASSUME a lot, don't you? Let me leave you with this: 1. God desires that ALL come to salvation. He does NOT hide Himself from anyone. See Romans 1:20-22 or...

Yes sir. The above is the history of baptism,,more could be said but the above is sufficient. I'd add Irenaeus, Hermas, Clement of Alexandria, Barnabas, Justin Martyr. (and others) source: A Dictionary of Early Christian Beliefs David W. Bercot

Right. This is a problem. The other problem is that the UK govt is AFRAID of them... them, meaning the Muslims. Anything can be done to a Christian... but they can't be touched. They protect their religion and for this I respect them. How many times do we have to hear JESUS CHRIST! in a...

Without re-reading the OP, due to my short attention span - I'd say that this church @Ernie goes to is not such a good church. They seem to want some kind of PROOF that I became born again at some such time as that it happened. Which would seem to indicate that a person MUST have an experience...

Hey, hey, I don't live in the city! This is about 30 minutes north of me.... BUT Bikers do love it up there.

Just kidding... after lunch.

Who's Ernie? What question? My attention span is shorter than yours!!

Notice that Paul is speaking about the JEWS. I'd get into this a bit more....but, look at this,,,YOU have ears that don't hear!! Guess God doesn't want you to know. I hope you understand that exegeting a verse is very important and that context DOES matter, even though it wouldn't seem like...

1. I wasn't discussing OSAS. I don't believe OSAS. It's not found anywhere in the NT or in the OT for that matter. You must be getting me very mixed up with some other poster. 2. I was referring to your idea that Jesus spoke parables so that some might not understand. Yes. This is...

Wow. Yeah. I'd remember that too. Except I don't know how to ride a horse. So deprived. God must find another way...

I saw it actually. What is left to say Deb? Can one retreat after having gone so far afield of the line of demarkation? What would it take?

Your reply would cause a nice long post... but I'm pretty sure you don't care to hear it. 1. Why would an experience help 20 years into the future? 2. Why would doubts come?

It actually means the following.... but we're not in English class. If you're reading an article in which the author is quoting another writer or citing a title, you might see the word [sic] inserted somewhere in the text: But, there may be more than one meaning....not taking the time to...
