Grace-Haters are incapable of honestly admitting what the (P) in Calvinism really means.

LOL! :) Ah, well, I'm glad that you believe the majority of us identify with the tax collector... But, well... LOL! I appreciate your opinions, NM, but John is not telling us that it's on any of us to cast out the fear he is talking about in our Christian brethren. He certainly does tell...

will we get a chance to evangelize in the millenium or other oppertunity?

You are an "inhabitant of the millennium," WH; you are living in it. As am I, and everyone else since Pentecost, now, and up to Jesus's return. And if you are in Christ as I am, then we have already been evangelized, and our mandate now is from Jesus Himself ~ to evangelize the unevangelized...

Much the same to you, Cooper. Grace and peace to you.

A NEW TAKE ON THE AOD

Jesus IS the true Temple: "Jesus answered them, 'Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.' The Jews then said, 'It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?' But He was speaking about the temple of His body. When therefore He...

Grace-Haters are incapable of honestly admitting what the (P) in Calvinism really means.

AH!!! I love this statement! Well, not... really... because it's very misguided... :)... but I love that it brings up the fear of the living God. I absolutely agree that we are to fear God; that is certainly a Scriptural mandate. But a question, if you will: What, in your (I hope not...

Grace-Haters are incapable of honestly admitting what the (P) in Calvinism really means.

I agree, for sure. We are called to do that. But, two things to say to that: 1. Living a life that is pleasing to God does not earn us salvation in any way. Maybe a bigger mansion... :)... but not salvation itself, because if one is heart-regenerate Christian, that has already been given to...

Grace-Haters are incapable of honestly admitting what the (P) in Calvinism really means.

Ah, not necessarily. If they remain out from the teaching of the early Church, yes. But they might at some point return. But still, it's about being in Christ or not... having been given new life in the Spirit. For those that "go out," that may not be the case, or it may be the case and that...

Hmmm, interesting. So you don't believe Jesus? If so, that's unfortunate. If that is true, then I would question why you're even in a discussion forum that is supposed to be for Christians only. Not that I'm not okay with you being here and hearing these things; rather, that's a good thing...

No, they don't. I mean, that would be the ultimate result, or fate (destruction, in the sense of ruination) for unbelievers, for sure. But both 2 John 2:19 and Jeremiah 17:9 have immediately in view the state of human beings in this world, in their mortal lives, not in the age to come...

will we get a chance to evangelize in the millenium or other oppertunity?

When Jesus returns, the time for evangelism (the millennium of Revelation 20) will have ended. Grace and peace to all.

will we get a chance to evangelize in the millenium or other oppertunity?

Sure! Go ahead! That's your mandate (and mine, too). The millennium of Revelation 20 is now. Grace and peace to you.

As I said, we can agree to disagree. None of the passages you have cited refute what I have said; they actually support my statements. And those passages most certainly don't conflict with the passages I have cited (2 John 2:19, Jeremiah 17:9). Grace and peace to you.

Okay, very good. Well, so again, I say that if they "returned to their old licentious life-style never to return," they never truly knew ~ believed and loved ~ the Father, but perhaps only thought they did for a time... because, perhaps, they didn't really know themselves or their own heart...

Sure, in his earthly life. Not sure what that means. Argue about error? Oh, I know the verses well. Is the message, in your opinion, that whoever sins at all can never be heard by God again and that he or she is forever blotted from God's book? Grace and peace to you.

A NEW TAKE ON THE AOD

Okay, well, please don't take this the wrong way, but a.) I absolutely respect your opinion, and b.) I think we should all avoid making absolute statements about ourselves. I did not label you in any way. I merely said that what you had said sounded dispensational and pre-millennialist...

Sure he was. I agree. But that's... not all. :) Well, right, but really, that's not all. Do you not think Adam repented and believed? Sure, but I think we disagree on Adam's end really was, and will be. Please allow me to explain: Adam disobeyed and sinned, for sure, and got what God...

Call it what you want, but Calvinist or no, it's right there in 2 John 2:19. Of people who thought they were believers and were with believers previously, John says: "They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went...

Well the fate of backsliders can be a couple of different things, really, depending on what the state of their heart actually is. As Jeremiah says: "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?" (Jeremiah 17:9) So to what you're saying here, I would...

Ah! Dude. That's a great comeback. :) I lean on God's Word, of course. But I do think John Calvin (and Augustine centuries before him) ~ again, for the most part, as no mere man (or woman) is perfect in his or her understanding of anything ~ understood God's Word correctly. Having said...

Wow. I'm... not sure what spurred that question. Well, okay, I'd be glad to, but ~ certainly not to offend you or anything like that ~ I first want to hear how you would answer that. Grace and peace to you, Cooper.
