You're correct. Thessalonians was written to tell them to stop waiting around for Jesus to return and get on with life. BUT Does this mean that Jesus returned in 70AD? Or does it mean that some of His prophesies were for 70AD (the destruction of the temple and a stop to sacrifices) and some...

You mean Jesus already came back and we're living in the New Jerusalem?? Wow. Sure doesn't feel like it here. Feels like problems all over. And here I thought the New Jerusalem was going to be a fantastic place! And gold costs a lot. Don't see any streets lined up with it. Animals don't seem...

Right. But it goes much beyond Jan 6...which, BTW, has some Europeans believing Donald is a fascist. Propaganda works for some.

Hey Rockerduck... when do facts ever mean anything? Better to just keep following those that are RUINING THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. mixxxx

Incredible logic. So, let's see: No place has a zero crime rate. (actually some places do). So,,,,would YOU rather live in a city with a crime rate of 5% or a city with a crime rate of 30%? Sounds like it would be the same for you.... after all, no city has a zero crime rate! Is it any...

Why would I? I know Whom I have believed. We're just talking here.

Don't know who they are. Don't care to know. I think I know enough about church history and have forgotten a lot. Justin didn't say his highest God is Jesus. He said Jesus IS GOD. There's a difference.

Could be pre-modalism. As I've stated, coming to a conclusion as to exactly who/what Jesus was did not happen immediately... however the seeds were always there,,,from Genesis onward. For those reading along... modalism is heretical.

Are you now denying that Ignatius of Antioch believed Jesus God? Ignatius of Antioch believed Jesus was God.. Ignatius of Antioch speaks to a number of issues that have been disputed among Christians for centuries. Regarding the identity of Jesus Christ, St. Ignatius could not be more...

Whose Akiba??? But we DO know who Jesus is ! Many messiahs. Only ONE true one.

Great proof for the Trinity! The other God is called an angel.... Great. Thanks for posting.

@MonoBiblical post 550 made you mad? How come? Scripture upsets you? The very idea that Justin is putting forth is upsetting to you? YOU are the one that has posted it !

Same idea Mono. ONE GOD TWO POWERS. Which is pretty much what the Trinity defines.

Besides,,,,I had listed several ECFs and their belief that Jesus is God. You seem to be obsessed with Justin for your own reasons... but your idea still falls short.

Too much to check Mono. And I'm not here to convince you that Jesus is God. Only the Holy Spirit can do that. However, you have made some incorrect statements and these need correcting.

Polycarp was a disciple of John. John presented Jesus as God. The ECFs believed Jesus was God but the language had not been introduced just yet. WHO this Jesus was took some time....no internet or phones back then. Things/ideas moved slowly. Polycarp did call Jesus God, but, apparently some...

Finally ! See Mono, the above is why it's important to post SOURCE. Here is what Justin is saying...exactly what I said in a post on here - am not going to look for it. The OT sometimes shows that there are two powers speaking at the same time... and they are BOTH GOD. He states EXACTLY the...

OK. I post for this reason too. But I keep it limited to those that have some semblance of seriousness about such an important topic.

You do this Mono. You make statements but do not post sources. So, no reply from me since what you do is post YOUR OPINION. I'm not interested in your opinion. NO ONE ever believed that there are 2 Gods. Some,,,even Jews, believed that there are 2 POWERS in heaven... One of these "powers" is...

EG I agreed with you until I studied some church history. I say "some" because there is just too much to know and I'm certainly not a scholar. I find that the ECFs agreed on some topics (not all). If we don't want to read what those that THE APOSTLES taught,,,then I don't know why we read...
