Is it possible to lose salvation?

Heard this before Behold. Jesus was Jewish but He started a new church and told the Apostles to go out and preach and teach. So, being a Christian, I read all of the NT and try to practice what it teaches. We were unbelievers once. What Paul and John preached to them is also for us after...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Jesus meant every word He said for every single believer in Him. He didn't change His mind after the cross. Jesus had other sheep: John 10:16 16“I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

You posted Eph 4:30, And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let's think about this verse a moment. Why are we told not to grieve the Holy Spirit if, as some say, our behavior doesn't count and we are assured our salvation? It sounds like a...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

If 1 John 3.9 means that as Christians we will not sin.... Then 1 John chapters 1 and 2 make no sense.... and John 20:23 makes no sense. Look at verse 8: he who sins is of the devil. Can a Christian that commits one sin be of the devil? So, I believe that it is correctly translated: HE WHO...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

False gospels...yes, that's for sure. Some sure are not teaching what Jesus taught or any of the §Apostles. It wouldn't have taken over 3 years to teach the Apostle what Jesus wanted them to know... all it would have taken was to say " just 'believe' in me and nothing else is necessary".... but...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

I never said one could lose salvation because he has "too many sins". As I stated, I don't know how many sins one has to have to lose salvation. I said that God cannot be mocked. Also, I didn't post it as proof that a person could lose their salvation... there are plenty of verses for that -...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

I couldn't agree more Amigo. But this could be pretty draining at times. Could you believe having to debate whether or not obedience to God is necessary! Ask this simple Yes or No question and I get paragraphs as a reply.... Yes. Tickling ears.

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Of course there's more. But, Rich R, I'm really tired of debating what the NT teaches. If you care to continue... you could post a scripture that sounds like we're saved forever, no mater what. Which is what OSAS teaches. And I'll reply tomorrow morning to show you how it cannot be true.

Is it possible to lose salvation?

LOL That's quite a high standard !! Think you could do it? Are you one of those that believes they do not sin?

Is it possible to lose salvation?

That question is always asked by those that believe our behavior has nothing to do with our salvation. The standard is taught by John. 1 John chapters 1 and 2 describe what a believer is to do when they sin. Forgiveness is asked.... Jesus is our mediator. 1 John chapter 3:9 describes what...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Yes. Paul is not easy to grasp. Reading him on the surface is very dangerous. Some get The Law mixed up with good works.

Is it possible to lose salvation?

What a silly remark. Do you want to know so you could reach your limit and then come to a grinding halt? God will not be mocked Rich R.

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Excuse me Behold... You have stated, just yesterday or the day before, that we will not be judged on our behavior. I DO hope that you've changed your mind. Please pay attention to the statements you make. Both Paul and Jesus disagree with this statement of yours,,, which is heretical. Here is...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

I have to agree. I try to use Jesus' teachings as much as possible. I do like to point out that there is no conflict between Jesus and Paul.... Even Peter said that Paul can be difficult to understand. Romans is not an easy book....it was written to Jews, and we don't think like they did.

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Same in any version. Romans 4:5-15 6 just as David also speaks of the blessing on the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works: 7 "BLESSED ARE THOSE WHOSE LAWLESS DEEDS HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN, AND WHOSE SINS HAVE BEEN COVERED. 8 "BLESSED IS THE MAN WHOSE SIN THE LORD WILL NOT TAKE...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Paul is saying that we are not saved by deeds of THE LAW. And in this he's correct. He doesn't mean GOOD DEEDS. Good deeds are absolutely required of the saved. Plus, Paul has been researched a lot lately due to the incorrect ideas some have of his teachings. Some make Jesus and Paul...

    Obedience from Genesis to Revelation

IF the scriptures could be taken in "so many ways" as you have stated.... do you realize what that means? It means that we, as Christians, cannot know the truth. Do you believe the NT contains The Truth? If so,,,what do you think that truth is? Please post scripture.

Is it possible to lose salvation?

It's very important to post what scripture teaches. The reason for this is that many read along but do not post. Many probably read the thread you linked but did not reply... it's still good that it was read. Many new Christians come on to these forums too. Basically, I'm here for them - so...
