What does it mean to be born again?

Nothing is being distorted...it's what the bible simply says....I just brought the scriptures. New creation, new man, inner man created after the image of Christ.....Christ in us the hope of glory (and the need to walk in the Spirit as Paul also wrote in Romans). Was it true that the...

What does it mean to be born again?

Just was trying to encapsulate how I'm understanding this. Hope it's right, or at least mainly.

What does it mean to be born again?

?? You are very much mistaken in what you are assuming I'm claiming for myself, apart from the foundation....which is perfect, righteous and holy....FLAWLESS... since it is Christ in us and HIS righteousness thus being imputed to us as a gift. The difficulty is in walking in that, manifesting...

What does it mean to be born again?

My brain can't handle very much these days brother - I have to keep things as simple as possible. To my understanding being born again is as described in the scriptures below.......and no wonder the bible says GREAT is the mystery of Godliness.....we are reborn as a new creation created after...

What does it mean to be born again?

Yes, though I don't know how you interpret that verse - I see it as saying we're waiting for the adoption, when corruption is swallowed up of incorruption - the redemption of our sinful flesh.

What does it mean to be born again?

Sister.....just dropping in to try to help with your question.....the verse that says those who have this hope purify themselves....I believe is another way of saying we're saved by faith. Because that hope is in us by faith, and it is by faith (in Christ) that we're cleansed/purified/washed of...

Was the Thief on the Cross Baptized or Not?

No, only one thread. Didn't realize there was no debate allowed there. But wow, the church needs to wake up...Christians need to be careful about what they are coming into agreement with! Glad to pray FOR those folks, but can't join in with those prayers.

Was the Thief on the Cross Baptized or Not?

Ah, in other words you were irritated and your patience was running thin. Yes, that's how it looked to me. I haven't seen any of those other threads you are talking about to be able to discern them....don't tend to get around much these days, but I just try to do my small bit here or there and...

Was the Thief on the Cross Baptized or Not?

Now instead of asking me to put words in your mouth, you're putting words in my mouth, lol. No I don't think irony/sarcasm is always mean and wrong. But in this instance your post was. Kind of like employing a bazooka to deal with a little gnat. Or we might even have just considered the...

Was the Thief on the Cross Baptized or Not?

Uh huh. Well, what don't you understand about being straight up? Just be straight forward without the ridicule, sister. Enough said. Let's not take this off topic any further.

Was the Thief on the Cross Baptized or Not?

Already told you my suggestion, just be straight up with the person you're having an issue with, without mocking and belittling them. Wondering why you think it's your responsibility to "get" anyone to do anything, anyhow. Manipulation.

Was the Thief on the Cross Baptized or Not?

It's always easy to justify ourselves because we ourselves usually can't see our own fault....much easier to discern someone else's fault than our own. I don't think God wants us sitting in the seat of mockers. If you have a problem with something, why not just address it with the person...

Was the Thief on the Cross Baptized or Not?

Whoa, rather venomous post there, don't you think sister? Sometimes we need to examine the plank in our own eye first before we judge and condemn others.

Was the Thief on the Cross Baptized or Not?

And HOW does He have mercy on those who He chooses to show mercy to? HE SHOWS THEM HIS SALVATION. That's right. He saves them through a revelation of Himself and His gospel. Because no man can come to the Father but by Jesus Christ. And there is no other name under heaven by which man can...

Was the Thief on the Cross Baptized or Not?

Gosh......the truth is really quite simple. Jesus was just granting salvation to the penitent thief, letting him know that he was saved......and comforting him as he was in process of dying, that he would live on in eternity with Jesus past his physical death.

Imputation is based on the Old Testament

As long as that template "IS" CHRIST IN US, and not just a kind of facsimile. We follow the same pattern as Jesus.....born again as a babe that need to grow to adulthood. The bible refers to it like a seed that grows. One man plants the seed, others water it. Or it is also likened to a...

Imputation is based on the Old Testament

:) I know you men like to tease each other....but keep in mind when you go fishing it's sometimes wise to use a lure of some kind. On one of Epi's music videos, in the comments, a fellow musician from ISRAEL was asking to meet up with Epi for a jam session. The Lord works in mysterious ways!

Imputation is based on the Old Testament

Amen, beautiful verses, all of them! And notice that Hebrews 6 goes on to warn against falling away...."FOR if...." Failing to grow and be going on to perfection can lead to falling away. Growing in the Lord is imperative! and we only grow as we pay the price to follow/obey Him!

Imputation is based on the Old Testament

Well all I know is that when we were born again something sure happened on a GRAND scale! :) In a MAJOR key!
