Imputation is based on the Old Testament

Here again you don't seem to be understanding my post.

Imputation is based on the Old Testament

Cut off, but not until they were led to/offered that option and reached that point of failure. (Valley of decision, I think..?) Until then, the children of Israel were COVERED.....cloud by day, fire by night.

Imputation is based on the Old Testament

Christ IN us, the hope of glory. May it never be torn down! Instead of going about seeking to establish our own righteousness like those under the Law without Christ, we are to submit to HIS righteousness which IS in us, ie, obey and follow His Spirit within us. Rom 10:3-4 For they being...

Imputation is based on the Old Testament

Of course, but where we differ is that I believe being in the Promised Land is imputed to those who believe. Remember Paul saying that there remains therefore a rest for the people of God and that we must not "seem" to fail to enter it. And then at the same time he said we who believe HAVE...

Imputation is based on the Old Testament

Well you have an argument with God then brother. Christ became a curse for us. He was numbered with the transgressors...imputed to be sinful. Was that His truthful state? How about this passage: 2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing...

Imputation is based on the Old Testament

Well I'm afraid what you're doing with your stance on imputation is tearing down the cornerstone of our faith. Sorry bro, but you're making rather a hash of that part. We can only understand/receive it by faith, ie, by the spirit. No point in arguing this out any further. Praying for you.

Imputation is based on the Old Testament

Oh well, if there is hope, maybe I'll try one last time. :) Is there any point though? You are just not willing to consider the possibility that you may be wrong about the definition and useage of the word impute. It's like a stronghold with you. A person may be 'correct' or 'incorrect' in...

Imputation is based on the Old Testament

If you were grasping what I am saying you wouldn't keep imputing things to me that I'm not saying.

    Instruction in righteousness

Going around in circles. And not for the first time it doesn't appear you've been hearing me. Anyway, it's been a long run and since this is going nowhere, I'm exiting the conversation now.

Imputation is based on the Old Testament

Strange post, like smoke and mirrors and a man waving his arms wildly. Not for the first time, along with more false accusations/insinuations, this shows you are not grasping what is being said. I don't think I've got anything more to add to this conversation.

Imputation is based on the Old Testament

We need the illumination of the Holy Spirit to give light to our understanding, to help us "see" and grasp these things. Adam's sin was imputed to us in that we were all born with weak flesh under Adam's punishment, the curse of death (wages of sin), even though as newborn infants we hadn't...

Imputation is based on the Old Testament

Amen! 1Co 15:20-22 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ (the second/last Adam) shall all be made alive.

    Instruction in righteousness

.... ok, I just wanted to understand where you were coming from. When we are born again, we go from kingdom of darkness (blind to God) to the kingdom of light where we can see/know God personally because He is revealed to us by the Spirit. Since sin separated us from God in the first place...

    Instruction in righteousness

How did you come to faith in Christ brother? Wasn't that a free gift? It almost sounds as though you might be talking about a nominal walk, followed by the born again experience. Rather than the born again experience followed by the higher walk and baptism of fire. May I ask, did you go...

    Instruction in righteousness

My, that sure does show the high cost and difficulty of being cleansed from sin...and to think Jesus did that for us! But after we are saved....of whom much is given, much is required. We have a walk to walk, a race to run, a working out of our salvation with fear and trembling.

    Instruction in righteousness

I don't know if I'm understanding everything you're saying, no strength today. All I know is we're saved and justified by faith, not of our own, it's a free gift....scripture says that. Yes, there are many religious people who are not producing the fruit and works that their faith should be...

    Instruction in righteousness

ok brother, going by your definition of the word, how is it that God can decide not to impute our sins to us, when in reality it is obvious that we have sinned? If our sins are not imputed to us (ie, they are forgiven and "remembered no more", then that is how righteousness is imputed to us...

    New Covenant only for Jews?

I'm sure it's probably already been said somewhere in the 44 pages here, but the new covenant (gospel) is to the Jew first, then to the Gentile. (Not exclusively to the Jews, but it came to them first.)

    Instruction in righteousness

Had to leave this thread for a while, it was just getting overwhelming. I can only unpack things slowly and in small quantities at a time these days. As well as that all the personal jabs were just getting to be too hard to watch. Once again, I agree very much that there is more for us to get...

    Is allowing mass immigration anti-christian?

Circumstances are looking pretty dismal at times, that's for sure, and it can be frustrating to see. But we must not lose sight of Who is sovereignly ruling over everything and not react in the flesh. Our nations in the west have turned their back on God to the point of often being hostile to...
