    Dead to the Law

Could you possibly explain this in a little more detail? I know it wasn't directed at me, but I see both myself and others getting a lot of what I would not compliment as being "loving rebukes." I'm talking strictly between members, of course--not as coming from admins. :)

    Dead to the Law

While that is certainly true: "For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified." (Romans 2:13) What does this tell you?

    Dead to the Law

Hebrews 10 1For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. 2For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers...

    Dead to the Law

Let's talk about the New Covenant promise. Which laws did God mean to write upon the hearts of believers? Just asking. :)

    Dead to the Law

End of the law as justification, perhaps, but you're leaving out all the good things that are said in the New Testament about the law. Not to mention the Proverbs and Psalms.

    Dead to the Law

How utterly tragic. Even though I agree that obedience to the law counts not one iota for merit toward salvation, how could being sinless possibly be a waste of time?!!! Would it be such an awful thing to do good, and no harm toward the rest of God's creation?!!!

    Dead to the Law

Well, since he pretty much bullies everyone who doesn't agree with him (unless things have changed), that's highly likely. We both got called out by a mod not too long ago and he "repented." I can see he's back at it. Attaboy, JBF! :D Sick hyperbole

    Dead to the Law

Many think that they cannot come to Christ unless they first repent, and that repentance prepares for the forgiveness of their sins. It is true that repentance does precede the forgiveness of sins; for it is only the broken and contrite heart that will feel the need of a Saviour. But must the...

    Dead to the Law

For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity. (Proverbs 24:16)

The Myth of saying that Jesus Christ died for all men without exception !

Perhaps, but it doesn't mean that He did, either. I think we have to go outside John 3:16 to understand what is said in John 1:29. :)

The Myth of saying that Jesus Christ died for all men without exception !

Tong, I owe you an apology. There's something about you're writing style that really frustrates me, and it is wrong of me to allow it to be thus. I make this apology in public for a reason: I have indulged in unduly impatient behavior toward you which also affects those who are onlookers. I will...

    Dead to the Law

Sanctification is the work of a lifetime. I think JBF knows that. BB53 is here to practice the antithesis of Carnegie's "How To Win Friends And Influence People." I've always said that the problem with legalists is that they don't take the law seriously enough. ;):)

Then why don't we agree? Your logic is mayhem. I'm moving on. Time to hit the TRENDING TOPICS button.

The Myth of saying that Jesus Christ died for all men without exception !

Examine this question carefully and try to see how feeble a defense it is. Anyone can deny being involved in something in which they are, in fact, involved. And the best way to do it is to avoid using names and labels. All you had to do was say "no," or ignore the questions, but you insisted...

The Myth of saying that Jesus Christ died for all men without exception !

The issue is simple and you've been dancing around it because you love to dispute. You made some remarks that made some people suspect that you are a proponent of Calvinism. And instead of clearing up the matter by simply saying "I'm not a Calvinist," you had to play this game as if you had some...

No, of course, quoting scripture doesn't make anyone a Calvinist, but it is a lousy dodge to avoid identifying as a Calvinist or not. I'm a Seventh-day Adventist. I'm not ashamed nor proud of it.
