Does it actually say this scripture, especially in the NT? Things did change when Jesus arose from the and when the Holy Ghost was poured out as per Acts 2. In the OT leaders such as Moses and Joshua were given authority by God which frequently people disregarded which effectively meant they...

Yes I listened to perhaps half of it. I did not hear anything with which I disagreed except for her decision to get a tatoo. I still cannot see me ever doing that. But... that is me. I strive to always walk as I am led by the Spirit however, and God certainly might take an unexpected turn for...

"All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any." I Cor 6:12 "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" I Cor...

Similar in ways perhaps to the advice that people give on this forum. Their intentions may always be good ones, but that does not mean we should follow after them blindly. Any man with the best of intentions may still makes mistakes. Each of us needs to follow the Master himself! Always remember...

Don't give that all to me, my friend. Remember that any good thing from me is of God, but sometimes things that are not good come from me and they are not of God! Alone I can do nothing... nothing good that is.! Give God the glory! Rehab and the harlot mentioned already by others here...

In the writings of Corrie Ten Boom, a woman of God, we find where she lied to the Germans to protect the Jews. Her sister Betsie refused to lie for any reason. It took Corrie a long time to truly understand her sister's point of view. Of course Betsie was right with regard to lies even as she...

Doubts are healthy until and if all real doubts are gone. When does that happen to a person, if ever? Did Jesus walking around as a man 2,000 years ago ever have any doubts? If the answer is, no, so then may we each find our own answer in these words? "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and...

The double mindedness mentioned specifically by James is also found in Jesus when he speaks of serving loving God or mammon. Paul warns us to not quench the Holy Spirit, but believers as I see it do it [quench the Holy Spirit] altogether too regularly which also then alludes to the double...

@quietthinker @bbyrd009 and everyone else... Mine is simple enough going back to my Catholic background. In the Catholic Church they have the sacrament of Confirmation at which time a person is given new name. I was probably about 10 years old when I took the name Amadeus. I never used it for...

And if a "little bird" told me this or that, what might that say about a "bbyrd"?

Remember that we, until and if we have overcome all opposition, are still double minded. There are places of Light within us as well as places of darkness. When we seek the darkness rather than the Light, we are quenching the Holy Spirit. Consider where the children of natural Israel lived...

She is simply perhaps the most faithful and caring!

Hard times are upon us and I expect they will get worse [for flesh and...?] before they get better. Let us all lean more heavily on our God who able to carry all of us and will heal and/ sooth our wounds. What a mighty God we serve!

Praying for you dear sister!

Needing prayers to continue for Kevin. Nancy had Kevin back home and was trying to deal with the situation. He was on three blood thinners. There was continuing to be way too much blood in his urine... according to her understanding. About 3:00AM this morning with him in excruciating pain, an...

@JohnPaul Praying for you on your job situation as well as with health issues! @MatthewG Praying for the son of your friend, Anthony!

Men tried to do that once and God put a stop to it. You are looking in the wrong direction! "And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. And they said...

Not the mark, but likely a test for men and a means of division between men. Focus on today and God, rather than on a future event that may not occur at all before your time here is finished. If you are walking with God, does it matter? "This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will...

Continuing to pray for all of the needs expressed here!

Due process was suspended for U.S. citizens by Abraham Lincoln [Civil War] and FDR [WWII] and both suspensions, I believe, were eventually held to be unconstitutional. However, after the 911 attack the due process even for naturalized citizens was suspended if they were suspected of being a...
