I have a question that remains unanswered:

You are throwing out the garbage along with the meal. Yes, the Father raised Christ from the dead. Yes, fathers live before their children. But where you miss the depth and beauty of the good news is the sacrifice made by the Father and Son. The eternal risk taken by both in order to save worms...

Is the Word of God only found in scripture?

Good grief, when did I claim anything close to that? Jesus established a church. The apostles were the foundation, Jesus the Rock of Truth it was built against as the chief Cornerstone. The apostles and disciples of that first church established as missionaries after Pentecost spread the gospel...

Is the Word of God only found in scripture?

Who had Christ's authority? And again, what's that got to do with the post you were responding to #239? I was correcting something you had said previously, now your moving the goal posts and talking about something totally different. Not the first time I've noticed this. When you're stuck for a...

I have a question that remains unanswered:

Your depreciating view of who Christ is, denies the Atonement. You make Him a mere angel. A creature. Let me explain why you deny the Atonement. Jesus gave His life. The reason He was authorized to do so was because He had life... Immortal self existing life, the same life as the Father...

I have a question that remains unanswered:

It's sad and concerning how far they've shifted away from how they taught the Godhead 150 years ago. I thought we'd got over the issues of the 1950s with QOD.

The Church is not prepared for what is to come.

In the very last days, (not yet but soon) what we see here... KJV Revelation 13:11-14 11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and...

    A Fist Full of Doubt's

Your psychoanalytical approach denying my actual experience is merely your own desperate attempt to defend and excuse your own unbelief. In effect, you are calling me a liar.

I have a question that remains unanswered:

I do not deny there are 3 individual member/persons comprising the Godhead, for that is what scripture reveals, as you said. But the trinity doctrine takes that further. And it takes it further into areas that deny the Atonement, and force assumptions that are untenable and unscriptural.

I have a question that remains unanswered:

There is so much to question re this post. First, the assumption that people are less mindful of the issues than yourself. Just because you believe you are correct, does not guarantee others aren't more correct. Second, you say the three are one. Jesus prayed, KJV John 17:11 11 And now I am no...

    TRANSGENDERISM

A great deal of truth in this. And a great deal of what could be truth besides. In another context... Gross hate speech. Such intolerance. Transphobic I think you said. Homophobic also without doubt. And I bet you are an entitled middle aged or older white man with innate race issues, and...

I have a question that remains unanswered:

What He never revealed to us is how the 3 persons are one. And sadly, the creeds all attempt to formulate how. They claim God is one in substance, that they are indivisibly united in such a way no one person is independent or can separate from the other two. Yet such unity is impossible if one...
  12. Brakelite

I have a question that remains unanswered:

Revelation comes to us through the word of God, and is confirmed in our hearts as truth by the holy Spirit. Any other voice the sheep ignore.
  13. Brakelite

Why do you feel it is so hard to be good?

I'm talking about how we are judged. Not how we are saved.
  14. Brakelite

I have a question that remains unanswered:

No-one has ever explained what God is in a way they themselves could understand, let alone in a way anyone else could. We do not need to know what God is, nor how His unity brings the 3 members of the Godhead together. His "substance" is none of our business. But the scriptures... Jesus Himself...

    A Fist Full of Doubt's

While I may not go quite so far as saying doubts are healthy, I am sure God doesn't mind us having them. John the Baptist doubted. He who was called to make straight the pathways of the Messiah, had to ask if Jesus was the one. And Jesus was his cousin! What is not healthy is keeping those...

I have a question that remains unanswered:

Here is the Atonement... The gospel... KJV 1 John 4:7-10 7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God...

    A Fist Full of Doubt's

Love the sax in that. "At night, when all the world's asleep, etc" reminds me of when I met Jesus. A friend had asked me earlier in the day, "do you think God would approve of your lifestyle". That night, alone looking up at the black ceiling, I decided to give my life to God so that He could...

Is the Word of God only found in scripture?

Huh? What are you talking about? What's that got to do with anything,?
  19. Brakelite

I have a question that remains unanswered:

Actually, in Catholicism it is ranked the most important. "The central doctrine of the Catholic Church from which all other doctrines are derived." In Protestantism of course, it should be the Atonement.

I have a question that remains unanswered:

This is a reply to another poster on another thread, but it answers your question. While I agree with you regarding the Trinity doctrine as portrayed in the creeds and many church manuals, I cannot agree with you regarding the Son. I have read 1 John numerous times. No where is there any hint...
