    The Basis of Salvation

You think that's worse than transubstantiation or purgatory? Or indulgences?!!!

    The Basis of Salvation

Are we allowed to call the Catholic Church a "cult" on here? I'm not a member of the RCC, nor do I hold sympathy with the vast majority of their doctrines but, Wow, Wild ,Wild West!

I never presume upon what God's view might be.

    The Basis of Salvation

The sanctuary services are so important because so much more was going on at Calvary than could be taken in by the five senses. I wonder what Jesus was showing the mourners on the road to Emmaus? Jesus must have known He was different. He wasn't naive as a side effect of His scrupulous conduct...

    Saved, which means what?

There seems to be a lot of that copy-and-paste thing going around.

Don't you guys think Christology is a bit off-topic?

My whole life I've run into people who believe they can properly understand the whole Bible through the lens of 1 or 2 verse. Even while the Bible Itself says we cannot live but by every word that proceeds from the mouth God.

Some folks feel that snatching themselves out is what is being described in the text. Me, I'm a little skeptical of that interpretation.

    Saved, which means what?

No, a quarantine will only confine the infection of sin to the earth until the Antidote has done Its job. The blood of Christ's death is the Antidote, which restores life abundantly. But we have not yet preached it to the entire world. If we had, the end would have come already.

    Saved, which means what?

I see salvation as simply healing broken relationships. The Lord's primary vocation is as a creator. His essence is Love. But at present we have a contingency of disease called "sin" which requires a quarantine, so to speak. So God became a doctor/scientist, Who deployed His Son into the...

This is good stuff but I'm not sure how it dovetails with the comment you made about Romans 3:8.

How many have ever changed their minds...

God, Himself indeed never changes. That's not hard to believe. But the way He deals with erring humans does change. The story is in the Bible. He meets people where they are. The children of Israel were so ignorant about human rights that, rather than lose them altogether by outlawing slavery...

How many have ever changed their minds...

I guess being brought up in a military home and then doing a 4-year hitch myself has influenced me to crave orthodoxy. What to do? Fact is, I'm perfectly comfortable with all the tenets of my denominational faith. But I totally respect the wishes of others to worship according to the dictates of...

    I'm afraid I don't understand this.

I've had many powerful thoughts and impressions that I believe came from the Lord.I've never heard a recognizable, audible voice that seemed to be God's, even in my head.

Praise The Lord! That is just beautiful. I love testimonies. I cry at baptisms like some people cry at weddings.
