I agree with the above... but maybe it goes deeper? A heresy is a teaching that is not considered to be part of Christianity, or maybe we could say a teaching that brings us away from Jesus instead of trying to understand Him.

I like 2 Timothy 3:12 because it tells what we are to do to know the truth. I think we've come to the consensus that a false teaching is something small and perhaps even insignificant in the grand scheme of things...whereas heresy has to do with something that is critical to being a Christian...

Not easy for us to understand. However, you are right - the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one in being but separate in persons. Did you ever see this? (also for @Enoch111)

Why do persons such as yourself come onto Christian forums and try to convince Christian persons that Jesus is not God? What could be the purpose for this? You could believe Jesus is not God, but perhaps you should stop trying to convince others because it's not that you're trying to understand...

Truther Jim and Grace are right.. The church was already being corrupted by some sects before John died,,,he was very concerned about the gnostics. When he stated in his gospel that they left because they are not of us, he meant the gnostics. You're right too. This happened after Jesus left us...

Are you of the reformed faith too? If so, I have to say that I just don't see where in the OT our free will was taken away... You have any verses that state this?

I like this! I find, however, that those on these forums are reading their bible but coming up with differing ideas. Would a mainline church help, for instance? SHOULD we all have the same beliefs as Jesus requested?
