Just saw this. A actually @Illuminator is right. It should be called the CC. Roman is a rite. There are different rites within the CC. A rite does not s church make. I also know that this will not change...

Didn't you know? She must be a terrorist!

I don't agree that these are our private beliefs. WHERE do these beliefs come from if not from the N.T.? And churches (denominations) also teach different doctrine. Examples: Some believe baptism saves. Some believe it is not necessary for salvation. Some believe in eternal security. Some do...

@PinSeeker You stated the following: Well, if we are totally depraved ~ if the effects of Adam's fall was as extensive as the Bible says it is ~ then God's election must be unconditional of anything we might do, because, due to the state we are in, any requirement God has ~ much less what it...

I don't have much time to spend on here PS and it seems like you're answers are no answer at all. So I guess we could stop here if you so wish. Just a few comments: 1. You say this in the above: Yes, I know exactly what you're talking about. Yes, many people have a hard time embracing the...

I'm on my way to respond to Pinseeker, but I came upon this and just want to say that 1. We are born depraved....does this mean we cannot seek God? Were persons born depraved n the O.T.? I have many verses in the O.T. that speak about how we should seek God and also find Him. 2. Everyone is...

What a great point Titus... I've never considered this. In the reformed theology, IF indeed Calvinism is taught properly, God Himself will cause some to think they are saved when in reality they are not and this salvation will be taken away from them by the very God that first caused them to...

Those who ARE IN CHRIST are securely united for time and eternity. What about those that are not in Christ? Are you reformed? If you are I understand your position. However, I must say that even the reformed are not UNCONDITIONALLY secure. and for a more terrible reasons than we who are not...

So how is it sola scriptura when we all have our own opinions?? This was supposed to unite and instead it separated. However, I do believe the reformation was necessary.

For Christmas there was a nice program on, I think he was really in his home. I'll post it if I can find it. I like almost all his concerts... From 2 years ago...

Hi Grace, I agree with you. It's impossible for a 3 year old to play the violin like that and for a 9 year old girl to have that voice - no matter how much they practice. Some are truly born with these talents. I think it's because God is the creator and we're made in His image, so He gives to...

Been away a few days, can't remember if I've answered this already. Sorry if it's a duplicate response. Eve was deceived by satan. Adam was not deceived...I agree. What Adam did was actually much much worse and what caused all of the human race to fall because it was Adam that was the federal...

Hi Farouk, I agree, somewhat, not fully. Because: What were the activities in Acts 2:41-42? Is that all there is to Christianity? What about Church Service/Mass? Acts 2:41-42 41So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls...

LOL I don't think he'll cut the mustard ! I was just kidding anyway. I don't think there could ever be an authoritative figure that would represent all of Protestantism. That's because we don't all have the same beliefs...

Following are some interesting points in an article written by a poster here, @OzSpen. It explains what a heresy is understood to be by scholars that study the N.T. At the end of the article some heresies are stated... Any comments? The article is short and may be found here: What is heresy...

Thanks Oz. I just realized that on this site they erase messages older than a few days. Sorry if I didn't reply to any post of yours - you know I would...

I still agree with you but I have a problem with one of your points. Eve was deceived , ok. Adam was not deceived. He Knew what he was doing. This was far worse. He knew and disobeyed anyway. I hope you agree that Adam caused the fall, not Eve. The second point is that Adam was also cursed...

Where's the new thread? I don't think you tagged me in...

I do agree with you re women pastors/priests, or whatever. I'm not sure I agree as to the WHY of it. What do you mean AS A RESULT OF THE FALL IN EDEN? Could you clarify?
