"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

I don't read every post, but I can safely assume we got into discussing the keeping of the Sabbath. And yes, some SDA do believe those that do not keep the Sabbath are lost. Others post a lot and try to convince the whole Christian world that it is sinning, even if perhaps they are not lost...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

There are no contradictions in the N.T. (or the bible). If we find one, it is usually explainable just by taking the entire message of the N.T. into consideration and properly understanding the words of Jesus and the teachings of the Apostles. The contradiction I was referring to with the other...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

You never answered what IT IS FINISHED means to you. We'll let it go... till next time! :)

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

I just wrote to you regarding this. Don't you believe the Prodigal Son was "saved" before he left his home and father?

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

Can't remember if I answered this Scott. But no matter... I dislike debating something forever. If the word that Jesus speaks...AGAIN...means nothing to you, then so be it. Just some comments: The son left in good standing with the father. The custom was to give the older son 2/3 of the...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

This is the same argument I hear from those that say we cannot be unborn. The spirit is not the physical. Flesh is flesh Spirit is spirit John 3:6 Jesus will never reject anyone that goes to Him. John 6:37 Great verses to show that one can indeed fall away... But it does not state that a...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

The above response from you was in reference to the fact that even if we fall away, we can always return to God and He will accept us. Jesus said anyone who goes to Him, He will in no way cast out. By posting Luke 15:31 do you mean that all that the Father has is always available to us?

Pretty soon I'll be leaving this thread. You can believe what you will EG. But you and others are way off what mainline Christianity teaches. You're very very far from what the Apostles taught. But I guess you know more than they did.

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

Hebrews 6? So there's a conflict in the bible? A conflict between what Jesus said and what Paul (or whoever wrote Hebrews) said? I didn't think there were conflicting statements in the bible. Maybe Hebrews 6 is referring to something totally different than what this thread is about? I do...

Thanks taken, But I'd like an answer from @ScottA.

Doesn't the father represent God and how He loves and waits for us, His creatures, to go to Him with love at any time and more than one time? Again, we distort scripture when our doctrine is not in keeping with the full picture.

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

Scott I had asked you what Jesus meant by IT IS FINISHED. I don't believe you ever replied. What does this mean to you?

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

EG,,, You're referencing 1 Corinthians 3:15 regarding the wood, hay and straw. This is not what 1 Cor is speaking of. You think I have a serious issue with the Word? Funny. And I don't know any Christian that trusts in himself. As I can see it...if a person gets verses messed up, his entire...

So now you DO believe salvation can be lost?

Foreordained is good for me. I just hope you don't mean predestinated... :D (since I agree with you so much).

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

Oh for goodness sakes EG... Speak of legalism and works! Have you noticed that I NEVER post Hebrews 6 which, BTW, states one can forfeit their salvation. Do you know why? Because it's not speaking about this subject matter. Read it again paying attention to whom it is written and why...which...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

Right. Those WITH FAITH have eternal life. John 11:25-26 25Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life.e Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. 26Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?” Believes Lives Believes...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

No one has to live up to God's standards. We're saved because of our faith. Who was Paul speaking to in Colossians 2? He says (in caps for ease) ALTHOUTH YOU WERE FORMERLY ALIENATED AND HOSTILE... He's speaking to born again Christian...to believers in Jesus. YET HE HAS NOW RECONCILED...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

I think we're in a theology thread. It would be nice if you posted scripture to support your statements. Many times you don't do that and it's a waste of time to post what we believe to be true without scripture.

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

Did you know that the first son received 2/3 of the inheritance at the time of Jesus? The father had given the son his inheritance before he left. He squandered the money. He squandered his inheritance and would receive no more. You admit the son was saved AGAIN. This is an important word here...
