Grace-Haters are incapable of honestly admitting what the (P) in Calvinism really means.

I understand you to be of the calvinist faith. And you don't believe a true believer can ever become lost again. So could you explain the following to us? I've asked many a calvinist and have never received a reply.... Besides this there is a special call which, for the most part, God...

    divorce and remarriage?

Hi GH Can I assume that by the above you believe that the water in John 3 is the water of baptism? Yes or No is fine...do not want to derail.

    divorce and remarriage?

Hi Oceanprayers Love your avatar. What you write above does not take into account WHY there is a Christian marriage and why there should not be divorce. Marriage is for the stability that a family requires to live together and share their life. This includes taking care of children that result...

    divorce and remarriage?

No scripture necessary. Abuse is grounds for annulment. Annulment means the marriage never happened.

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

The ECFs do not give opinion. And please remember that there was no TV, internet or newspapers back then. Think of how the letters were distributed.... 100 years was nothing back then. John wrote his gospel and letters in about 90AD... When Barnabas was writing John was still alive. When...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

You say OSAS or NOSAS is the gospel.... Isn't the good news that Jesus died so that we may live with Him forever? Here is the gospel in miniature form: John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

I think you got your quotes messed up.... Must leave now. You said obeying God is a work. That's pretty unbelievable EG. I consider obeying God (to the best of my ability) is an honor. You like what the N.T. writers wrote? Then listen to them. Starting with Jesus: John 8:51 51“Truly, truly...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

EG, You're obsessed with works. I never mention works. I do say that we must obey God. I've posted some writings for you...It would be good to learn some church history and know what the first Christians believed. Who do you think knows more about what Jesus taught the Apostles? Them or your...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

I find that they are taught this by their church. I knew a woman that wouldn't wear pants because only men should wear pants. Most of these persons are most probably saved or they wouldn't go to such extremes to remain in their church. It's not their fault if they are taught improperly. This is...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

You SHOULD care what the Apostles taught. You should care what those they taught also taught to others. Who do you think wrote the N.T.? If you don't care what THEY said, then you don't care what the N.T. says. Here is what they said about OSAS: We take earnest1477 heed in these last days; for...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

You've written above what Hebrews 6 is about: "That is the point the author is making, If a person returns to the law. they are at the point they will never even attempt to return to Christ. Because they have been there done that. Thay will have hardened their heart beyond the point they could...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

I see that @BarnyFife , just below, already answered. That would have been my answer too. The work Jesus came to accomplish is finished. God did everything He promised to do in all His covenants with man.

Whatever. I'm not here to convince you. What is Walking Like Einstein about?

Actually, that is a lot more to the parable..which you might be alluding to. Also as to it being conjecture...I don't think so. Jesus told the parable and He based it on what He knows to be facts. It definitely is the truth of the spirit.

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

OK So you did read my post. Those are not my ideas, BTW. I'm not that intelligent or scholarly... But there are those that are and Hebrews CANNOT mean that one cannot return to God. Again, are you saying one can become lost AGAIN, and then CANNOT return to God? Is Hebrews 6 all you have to go...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

What do they teach about eternal security? About works? IMO, the ECFs go up to 325AD...after that things began to go awry. But if you hold to OSAS then you have not read the ECFs correctly. Could you post some of their sayings?

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

It's not exactly what Hebrews 6 is referring to EG. If that is so, then all those persons that post on these forums that they are sorry they fell away and want to come back, cannot come back? So then you not only agree that salvation can be lost... but that a person cannot even return to God...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

Jesus will accept anyone at any time. THIS is the Good News...otherwise there is no good news. The only sin that is not forgiveable is the sin of unbelief. The sin of blaspheming the Holy Spirit... Of course, if we repent, even that sin can be forgiven. Woe are we if we cannot go to God with...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

P.S. I didn't read Sinner in the Hands of an Angry God... but the title reminds me of two atonement theories. One would be propitiation and the other would be expiation. Can't think of their titles right now. The one of Propitiation, satisfying an angry God, came about at the reformation. The...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

I'm not sure he was a great man of God. His disposition was rather crude and he doesn't seem to have been a kind man. From what I've read, he seems to have been very harsh and cruel with those that did not agree with him. I'd say to imprisonment and banishment from his city of Geneva. I do...
