    Who appreciates Philippians? :)

If you think you begin your walk at the finish line as so many misinformed people do these days....likely not.

    How Unique are You?

We are all unique. But there are many spirits out there that people will invariably look to for support and help to bolster their weaknesses. So then people start acting and thinking the same way. Same spirit, same conformity. In truth, people really don't want freedom...but prefer an illusion...

    Binding and Loosing

You are confusing a spiritual liberation or binding with a church action which is disciplinary on the physical level. The church decides to exclude a person or receive a person into fellowship. A physical person. This is about fellowship. But binding and loosing are as I described in the OP...

    Binding and Loosing

I think often people confuse authority with autonomy. Autonomy actually means "a law unto oneself" (auto and nomos). ...or a lack of coming under authority. Who really wants to unselfishly see the restoration of God's dominion? Do we not prefer freedom over submission to authority? Are we...

Can Jesus and Paul be reconciled on the LAW?

The problem lies in our modern understanding of grace. Grace is the power from God to fulfill the law of God. To further confuse matters Paul is not being specific when he says "the law" on which law he is referring to. So there is a lot to confuse us. The works of the law include religious...

    Who appreciates Philippians? :)

I just posted this verse in another thread...kind of gives a lie to the very carnal idea that we enter into the finished work of Christ at the first step of our faith. As for appreciating Philippians....I can't say as I ever met any.

Alive without the Law (Rom. 7:9)

The opposite is true. We need a further step of faith (or many steps for some) to move into the finished work of Christ. You are making this about us instead of about the Lord. His work is finished...ours is just begun. He that has begun a good work...not a finished work as you say...

    Binding and Loosing

You are thinking of binding or loosing being about people rather than things of the Spirit. Who binds people? You are seeing this from a physical standpoint...so then a person would have to be bound with actual ropes or chains for your physical idea to work..

Alive without the Law (Rom. 7:9)

I think people get very confused about what Paul calls the law......or works of the law...which is Judaism. Some Jewish believers preached that Gentiles must convert to Judaism to be saved. Paul sought to correct this. But this is not the same thing as the law of God....which is to be written...

Alive without the Law (Rom. 7:9)

Amen. The law only condemns us when we are acting outside of the power, life and presence of God. It reveals us for who we are...weak. So it really comes down to this simple thing.....are we acting WITH God in what we do? With God is grace and the ability to do all things. His strength makes...

Alive without the Law (Rom. 7:9)

people have a hard time understanding spiritual things because there are seeming contradictions in the flesh. Grace seems to be saying something very different than the law of God. The flesh cannot discern the truth because of self-interest. But both grace and the law are speaking of Christ. So...

    Binding and Loosing

Everyone has a right to their opinion. But that's all you are providing here. You are exposing yourself to have a very narrow view of things...with nothing to back it up.

Alive without the Law (Rom. 7:9)

The law of God doesn't change with grace.

Agreeing with heaven....I like that! :)

Alive without the Law (Rom. 7:9)

This is of course a popular modern doctrine...but that has no basis in reality. People today don't believe it is possible to no longer sin. Paul was being honest. He was still sinning in spite of having no wish to. It was "sin in him". Then he needed to go to God so that this would become "no...

Alive without the Law (Rom. 7:9)

Neither does sin....but to experience liberation from sin is a further work of the cross....which is also by grace. We need to go to God to complete our entrance into the full grace of God.
  17. Episkopos

Alive without the Law (Rom. 7:9)

That's not how law works. The law of God is like the law of gravity...it is immutable. The only way to overcome the law of gravity...is with a greater law...the law of flight...or in this case, the law of faith. What I meant about setting the law aside was that Paul didn't consider what he was...
  18. Episkopos

Alive without the Law (Rom. 7:9)

It's not that he returned to the law.....it's that grace was trying to get him away from the law. The law doesn't go away...we just set it aside for a time to concentrate on life in Christ. But if while we are seeking to live in Christ we become lawbreakers...then there is something we're...

    God,Eden, Adam,fruit, satan,law, Christ,us

Adam was tempted in his natural man. Just as we can be. The fact that Adam sinned without a sin nature shows that sin does not just come from a sinful nature...a sinful nature comes from indulging in sin. We all have a natural part of us....a human outer person that we interact with other and...

    The Triumphant Faith

For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:4
