    The Trinity

I don't speak to salvation as in your question. This is something for God to know, not me. But I'll say this: The problem with A is that you claim to be a Christian. A Christian is something specific. A Christian believes Jesus is God. So, if you're following Jesus...WHOM are you following? Is...

It's in scripture marks. It's plain to see, but some do not want this to be true. I think it's a good idea to state that we need to hold on to Jesus and love God forever.

    The Trinity

You should not believe in the Trinity because I do... But because the early church did and those men learned from the Apostles. And I'm not here to condemn anyone. I'm sure everyone here has some belief or other that may not be understood by others. However, a person should not come to a...

    The Trinity

Would you be able to list some of those lies? I posted the Nicene Creed (one of a few, but they're all basically the same). This was to show who can call themselves a Christian. If a person does not believe the Nicene Creed, he is not a Christian (or at least he should TRY to understand it)...

Who do you think John was speaking to in 1 John?

    Eternal Security

Right. Justification is the same as salvation. God declares you to be righteous - right with God. You are declared innocent, just as you've stated. It's a moment and has nothing to do with sanctification. You're referring to 1 Corinthians 3 which is speaking about Paul's ministry (and Apollo)...

    HERESY?

Holy means to be set aside for service to God. Peter tells us in 1 Peter 1:14 that we are to live holy lives and to be obedient children. We must be holy because God is holy. God is holy has a different meaning, I think we already went through this... God is holy because He is perfectly: Moral...

    HERESY?

Agreed. It's not how I interpret.... God sees us as His children. This does not mean that we never sin. We are told not to grieve the Holy Spirit --- which means that we could. Jesus told the Apostles they could forgive sin --- which means we could sin. Let's look at your verse: 1 John 1:6...

I agree with all. Maybe you have somewhat of a wrecked ship... but God is the pilot and He's leading you. Think of yourself as a child of God instead... John 1:2 Galatians 3:26 I also like CS Lewis.

    The Trinity

Davy, I've noticed that some here do not believe in the divinity of Jesus...they do not accept that Jesus is God. They do not accept the Trinity and do not even understand it - since they don't WANT to, of course. I've also noticed the word CHRISTIAN under their avatar, and this is incorrect...

I'm more than sure I didn't.... but you can believe what you will.

    Eternal Security

Yes. I believe I still sin, as both Jesus and John have stated that I can. If you think you never sin,,,who am I to argue that with you? I forgive men for what they've done to me. If it is a sin against God,,,God must forgive that sin, not me.
  13. GodsGrace

    The Trinity

But the father was the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is GOD. Jesus was 100% human and 100% God. This is called the hypostatic union. Do you believe Jesus behaved as any normal human mortal did/does? We can know Jesus is God because He lived His moral beliefs. We can know Jesus is God because...

    The Trinity

Wrangler, You write the above because you do not accept the Godhead/Trinity. It would be nice if you removed the word CHRISTIAN below your avatar. Christianity means SOMETHING SPECIFIC. And in that specificity is the doctrine that there is ONE GOD.... with 3 Persons residing in that one God...

    The Trinity

No time to post right now... But I'm reading thru a little and find In @Aunty Jane a strong dislike for Christianity. Christianity, which has been around for 2,000 years is not teaching what is biblical,,,,which bible was made by Christian's. (The NT). But what a few men teach, beginning 150...

    HERESY?

Agreed. In Italian Easter is PASQUA. And to distinguish, Passover is PASAQ. Call it what you will, it means the same.
  17. GodsGrace

    HERESY?

Also for @Aunty Jane Past midnight here. Tomorrow....
  18. GodsGrace

    HERESY?

It does have a more complicated definition. God is Holy does not mean God is set apart to serve Himself. But for US that's what holy means... we are not holy as God is holy. I agree re sanctification. At the end of the road is glorification...but that's at our death.
  19. GodsGrace

    HERESY?

OK. I see. I think all sin is sin...to us there is sin and more serious sin...I'd rather you lie to me than kill me. But God is so holy that to Him everything is sin. This is one of the reasons I don't agree with those that say they never sin. We must sin a few times each day...it's just that...

    The Trinity

I think that what you are to God may or may not matter to Him. If you love God and serve Him, I believe He is happy with you. I've always said that our doctrine does not save us. However, some doctrine is so far off what Christianity teaches that it should not be considered to be "Christian"...
