I believe the United States was providentially raised and established by God. But not for the benefit of the state, but for the sake of the church to give the church room to breathe and expand without the constrictive policies of the centuries old union of church and state in Europe. A...

Then I'm probably the only Christian who would dare suggest such a thing. I've certainly never heard anyone suggest that in all my 45 years of Christian faith.

Two points, which make the rest of your post above invalid. Frist, the early church did continue to observe the 7th day Sabbath. Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:2 were not sacred Sunday meetings. The Acts one was what we would now call Saturday night. It was but a continuation of the Sabbath...

@Marymog Hi Mary. The authority of scripture in comparison to the authority of the church or individuals who read the scripture and come to a certain or uncertain understanding is a popular topic with you huh, and certainly is a point of contention between Catholic and Protestant hermeneutics...

Can't argue with that. God's promises do not rely on other men (other than ourselves) to cooperate...although He does want His people certainly to be cooperating together as Hidden says, in the gifts of the Spirit... but certainly can and does operate one on one with His people. I have found...

Amen. As we walk in the Spirit, we find those 'triggers' aren't triggers any more...they're firing blanks to which we don't respond.

Really though? Why is it then that Christians react so negatively when asked to consider God's commandments? After all, John says, "sin is transgression against the law". The response is varied, from "the law no longer applies...we are not under the law" to "You can't earn your way to heaven"...

Why do you need a Commandment to please God? The gentiles in Acts actually asked Paul to meet with them on Sabbath. What is it about the Sabbath that so offends you? Again, why do you need one? Isn't Exodus 20 sufficient? How many times does God need to ask you to do something before you say...

Population 2,000,000. Deaths from covid, 3,000. That's 0.15%. that isn't any worse than any other city in the world. Even assuming their figures are correct, 3000 as a percentage of cases is still less than 2%. I dunt know about herd immunity, but I would suggest many individuals are immune...

Man's attempts to work for his salvation finds its genesis in satan's counterfeit offerings in paganism.

@Randy Kluth @CadyandZoe I think you guys are missing the real purpose of the sacrifices. The question shouldn't be, "what does God want" but why does He want it? The sacrifices to false gods you realise are a perversion of the real. Remember those false sacrifices came after the demonstration...

If real Christians are scarce as hens teeth on the ground in some places, how does anyone judge Christianity? A Muslim for example. Never met a Christian in his life. Let alone a good one. What would be his perspective on our faith? First, he would understand from polls that 70% or so Americans...

And no sand in sight.

Yet Prince Charles isn't the boss. He may be the next in line to the throne of England, but the throne of England, Ireland, and Wales belongs to another. The Great Reset isn't Charles's idea. He's simply following orders and is a willing mouthpiece.

I think that if we were honest with ourselves, we would discover that we all have, or have had in the past, attitudes and habits that we struggled with. For a long time with me my struggle was with tobacco. I had been able to give it up for a month or so, but in certain circumstances, triggers...

I agree. Maybe.:)

What about the cattle, the servants, and the strangers that were visiting...were they Israelites? No. What of the Gentiles who were joined to Israel by adopting the Israelites' God as their own? Were they to keep Sabbath? Yes. What of Gentiles in the NT era who are joined to Christ along with...

you are contradicting yourself...berating me because you reckon I wasn't offering the solution, yet later on saying exactly what I said. I think you are shooting from the hip.

This particular topic... can we, should we stop sinning.. can be the most vexing topics to negotiate, yet the answer really is quite simple. The term, the just shall live by his faith, is found in both old and new testaments, and covers every aspect of the believers life through salvation, and...
