    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

That will be the topic on judgment day....not how often we read the bible or if we adhered to a certain creed.

    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

Jesus didn't come to bring that kind of unity. He came to bring division within a family...a sword...a fire. Unity is through a shared life...a new kind of life. A life that is in connection to God. Instead of looking down at books...we are to be beholding the face of God.

    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

Unless you are walking like Jesus...you haven't yet understood the word.

    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

Adherence to a creed is a man-made attempt at unity. We are to be alive together in God. Not agreeing about a statement we think describes God. Religion sells God short. It also sells short what we are capable of through Christ. What we should be seeking for is God's intervention, His...

    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

But that is insufficient. The bible speaks of people that walked WITH God. So then anything less than that is falling short of being a people who walk by the word. Imagine if reading the bible was just an account of other people reading the bible. It would be like watching a movie based on...

    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

If you read the bible it speaks of a living God...not other people just reading the bible.

    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

What is a book compared to a living God? 2 Cor. 3:6 who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

My bible is dead. No pulse. But God is living. We are to go to Him in a new and living way...not by the oldness of the letter but by the new life in the Spirit.
  9. Episkopos

    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

The living Jesus....not a dead creed.

    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

"You shall know them by their creeds" Where in the bible does it say to formulate a creed? And how do you know how much deviation from a certain creed is required for a person to be excommunicated or burned at the stake? I would think we have progressed a little beyond formulas.

    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

Here is a creed that is actually biblical...God is love! (also a consuming fire)

    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

Any attempt to try nailing down a mystery as deep as the nature of God in a simple formula that men can grasp...is flawed at the outset. You can't catch the wind in a box. So I am against the very idea of attempting this. We know that both Jesus and the Father are the Jehovah in the OT. We...

    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

Because this is a man -made doctrinal statement...it will have flaws. The idea that the Father and the Son are co-equal is disproved by the statement of Jesus that says... John 14:28 28"You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I...

    ...in your opinion...that is. :)

    The Double-edged Sword

I am speaking to you as someone who offers biblical support for what is said. And you respond as someone whose opinion alone would claim to outweigh any scriptures provided. Maybe if you were clearer in your communication? I don't always get what you are talking about. A little bit of clarity...

    The Double-edged Sword

The sharpest swords are single edged actually. The Japanese Katana is among the sharpest ever...and it is single edged. I am suggesting that the 2 edges represent the dual aspect of the word of God. The sharpness is the effectiveness of the word.

    The Double-edged Sword

How much of what you think and do is informed by the word...vs...how much are you just doing from your own ideas and such? Paul does say that the things of the Spirit are foolishness to the natural mind, after all.
  18. Episkopos

    The Double-edged Sword

The power of suggestion...hmmm. Do you ever read the bible?
  19. Episkopos

    The Double-edged Sword

There is the natural life...and the spiritual life. Add the 2 together and that makes the Hebrew "Chayim"...or...lives. When Adam sinned....he lost his other life....the life in the Spirit. So he saw himself naked for the first time. He saw then as an animal sees...without the glory of the Lord...

    The Book of Remembrance.

Agreed! In the meantime we can encourage each other to press forward in the race of faith! :) Blessing to you!
