Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

No...that excuse only comes from not having the proper definition of what the church is: Christ is "perfected", and by the spirit of the Father, so is His church. Fallible and imperfect men, are not the church. But thanks for unwittingly clarifying that you don't know the actual truth about...

Understanding Parable and Allegory in God's Word

The first thing to understand, is that all things "created" are "written", and mankind is specifically "created" in the "image" of God. Those are not the description of something "literal" or even real. As for mankind, we know the truth: only One is begotten, only one is real according to how...

    Should women teach the bible?

Neither of those statements is true. Paul contrasted many things of this world which would indeed come to an end, including prophecy. But He did not say that prophecies would cease before the end. And that was not even the subject. He was making the point that love endures all. The subject was...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

You just violated your "infallibility" rule. Oh, and that means, you have no business telling others to read their bible.

    Should women teach the bible?

Hmmm... If it is the Holy Spirit who speaks and not the man or woman (in accordance to what is written), then there is no natural man who speaks for God.

Just for....those who, well, not just for some, but for all who would love God.

Here is were it goes wrong. Being a leader in the church is just one of many gifts of the Holy Spirit. The error of some is to consider that authority as greater than any other, thereby doing exactly what you have pointed out: "claiming for ourselves authority that belongs to another." This is...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Also spoken like a person who doesn't understand what the church is... You left out this passage: John 6:70 "Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?”

    Christian Denomination Differences

Indeed, if we are of the Body of Christ...we are saved already.

    Should women teach the bible?

As it is with many biblical settings, there is the local and historical circumstances that prompted the topic to be written...and then there is the timeless reason they were written into the eternal word of God. Thus, the mere fact that it is in the bible, makes it a mistake to dismiss it for...

    Christian Denomination Differences

Yes, it is a good topic, and greatly misunderstood. The different parts of the body that is the body of Christ and the church of Christ...are suppose to be different. That is how a body is made (by design) and how it works. Our unity is not to be in our own likeness, but rather in the fact...

Just for....those who, well, not just for some, but for all who would love God.

No...but you are in need of redefinition. The church = the body and bride of Christ (not the leaders only). The apostles = those sent (not just the twelve, one of whom was a demon). The household of God = the kingdom (which is not of this world). Considering rather that the end of the age...

Just for....those who, well, not just for some, but for all who would love God.

That sounds a bit like agreeing to disagree; agreeing with Who is in charge, but then disagreeing on who the church actually is. I would encourage you to consider that you have it upside down, that the leaders are not the church, but are the least of them and have no more authority than...

Just for....those who, well, not just for some, but for all who would love God.

I agree. But the warning also includes "false teachers among you." 2 Peter 2:1 Thus, the only reliable source...is the Spirit, whether by Leader, Elder, or babe.

Just for....those who, well, not just for some, but for all who would love God.

@marks Philip, that does not account for the teaching of false doctrines. It is true that we are guarded and guided by the Holy Spirit, which guards those who are taught, but does not guard those who teach, who's witness is false. To the one life, and the other death.

Just for....those who, well, not just for some, but for all who would love God.

Well...it is true, if Christ is in us and we in Him, we exist within His infallibility. Thus, John writes, "Whoever abides in Him does not sin." But that would not be true of one who, rather than being in Christ, is only in a church built on the wrong rock.

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Your Catholic complex has nothing to do with it. You posed an opportunity for clarification in accordance with "all truth" being revealed by the Holy Spirit. That is how this is suppose to work. It was the truth being revealed. Your loss.

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

No...the context here is "Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.’' There is no other day after the cross...not in the correct context. "Today" was "that day" (that "third day") foretold all throughout the scriptures.

    Why do we need priests?

Okay...and even though it is a bit on the christianese side and some may not completely understand, I do. But as I said, the rift here, is the rift here. Which also comes with a similar christianese and pretense, and an imposed official ere of distinction and separation, complete with special...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

No... That would be like saying "behold now, the day of salvation" without meaning "today."

    Why do we need priests?

By "communion", I believe you mean fellowship, in which I too remain...as is also true of many individual Catholics. But I cannot say the same for the Catholic church organization. While the doors are open to "guests", the distinction remains apparent on their part, rather members only--not of...
