Teresa of Avila and Watering the Garden

What do you believe? Who taught you? You could be a Berean but that means you're checking on something someone has told you.

I agree. I also understand this verse to say what you've stated. It's easy to say that we're doing something for God,,,OR in God's name and fool others; but we cannot fool God. Jesus did say in that same chapter that we can know the false teachers by their fruit...but sometimes it's not so...

Very good explanation A. And I agree about what you said about unsaved persons doing good... I also believe those persons have a better chance of becoming saved since their heart is soft and kind. (if that's what they practice).

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

No birth control problems here. No one has children...maybe one...and the church has nothing to say. A lot said re the whole gender thing. At least the CC is not giving in to that. (except for the priests that are homosxl)

When, where, or how was free will taken away?

    That's good too! :)

There is no puzzle for me. There are some that know how to take all the counsel of God without making it be lopsided. Of course, we protestants like to be little theologians, look down on scholars, and want to know everything all on our very own.

Cease from your own works and Keep the Sabbath Holy...or die.

It was an example for man to follow. The Israelites had worked as slaves for hundreds of years... they needed rest. God gave the example, in Genesis, that man needs rest and should not work all the time.

You can't take one verse out of the bible and make a doctrine or theory out of it. Theology teaches what I said. Do you ever sin? Do you become lost or are you still right with God? So, yes, the answer is yes. One could do what is wrong and still be right with God. The man who repents when he...

    woman wearing pants

LOL Pretty funny Ezra. Here's what I think... Men, in the days of Paul,,,wore dresses and skirts. So, by today's standards, it would seem that men dressed like women and not v v. So basically it means that women are not to mimic men and men are not to mimic women. Woman today don't...

Hey SBG, You don't really know what either term means... RIGHTEOUSNESS means, quite simply, to be right with God. HOLINESS means, quite simply, to be set apart for God's work. An unsaved person cannot do what is right... Because he is not RIGHT WITH GOD. He can do what is right in man's...

I know the difference. I wonder if the other member does. Both could be answered in one sentence...but a study is always good.

What does righteousness mean? What does holiness mean?

When, where, or how was free will taken away?

Are you a philosopher? LOL This is what you said: However, I can encourage people to give me their free will and they often do so willingly. If you encourage people to give away their free will... and they do it WILLINGLY.... Then they were using their FREE WILL to give it away. Again...

When, where, or how was free will taken away?

I do believe God showed Paul the glory to come. It was Paul, I believe, who "saw" heaven and HE is the person he was speaking of in Corinthians (2). Persons that experience NDE come back with the light of knowledge and fear nothing in this life, as they look forward to their future life.

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Love the news image! That's how it is, unless one doesn't look into news in different ways, he will not know the truth.

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Agreed. This pope is trying to get away from that and this is the tone he is setting. I think the problem is that catholics themselves are all upset over doctrine being changed. It seems they don't want the change...at least the ones over here. (don't know what's going on in the states).

You're not saying what your idea is...it's OK. Edgar Casey, for instance, did not invoke the name of God. I do believe that when God is called on...it is HE that is doing the work. Jesus said a house divided cannot stand when He was accused of doing the devil's work.

I didn't read your link because I have to leave... But did you ever hear of Padre Pio? He's Saint Pio now. There are MANY reports of his being in two places at one time. My own Aunt told me an interesting story about an experience of hers. I'm not sure about the levitation and am planning on...
