Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

When did this happen and where??

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

I can't answer to you E,,,because you TOTALLY did not address my post. As to Augustine,,,,I did say ECFs, of which he is not one. Some theologians will accept that the ECFs go up to about 400 or even 600... MOST will stop at 325 because that's when the church began to CHANGE. I make sense...if...

All the ELECT please stand up

Nice to see you A. One of the VERY FEW calvinists I can actually have a conversation with. Most will post silly cartoons, not answer, or insult. Got banned from you know where just for saying what I believe -- but it's a little club over there so I don't really care. The question was not for...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

The catholic church teaches that those that are baptized in the name of Jesus are saved persons but they do not have the "entire truth".

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

I agree. It was good at the beginning...then I don't understand what happened.... the church got mixed up with politics...the power went to its head...men who are filled with the sin nature got into power...I don't really know and no one can...maybe it's a little of each. All I know is that at...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Ditto here. And I agree that the church is better today than ever. Augustine said some beautiful ideas... but that's about it. The church went along with him because he was so good at fighting heresy, which was rampant. Maybe this is why the church can't change.... Some really traditional...

All the ELECT please stand up

I wonder if @atpollard is around. He never answered my question either and at least he has some brains in his head.

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Thank you GH. I could add more but some catholics like to stick their head in the sand and stay there. The catholic church was considering halting the practice of baptizing babies about 10 years ago. I wonder if our catholic friends here...WHO SEEM TO KNOW EVERYTHING...even know this. And...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Prism happens to be right. You must be one of those catholics that reads the CCC and goes to some bible study and thinks they know everything about the catholic church. You make up your very own ideas about change and Augustine and the early church. How come you didn't post any ECFs? Because...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

I've decided not to prove anything to you or any other catholic. Why should I? You go ahead and believe what you will, but everything you've written above makes no sense and is not in reply to my posts.

    Alive or dead

Isn't there a difference between immortality and eternal life? Dictionaries - Baker's Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology - Immortality Immortality [N] [E] A state or condition free from both death and decay. The Bible affirms that only God by nature has immortality ( 1 Tim 6:16 ; cf...

    Philippians 2:12

I've been thinking about this. Isn't a faith of mere mental consent a dead faith? If it doesn't save, isn't it a dead faith? As to nominal, lukewarn or shallow.... Didn't Jesus say the faith of a mustard seed is enough? Do I have to have a certain amount of faith to be saved? I was thinking...

    Philippians 2:12

I agree. Noah was a man of God. He obeyed God.... I meant that his obedience literally saved him...his life. When we obey God, we save ourselves in many different ways from the hazards of life.

    Philippians 2:12

We're on the same page for a lot of theology... James said faith without works is a dead faith... This is what you said before. A dead faith means there is no faith. If there are no works...one could be 99% sure there's a problem with his faith. I'd say that's being on the same page.

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

No, it does not WHAT? Augustine developed what was already there. OK. Original Sin always existed. Was it taught by the CC that one was personally RESPONSIBLE for O.S? Was it taught by the CC that even a baby went to hell if he was not baptized because of this O.S.? NO! Perhaps you could...

    Philippians 2:12

    Perfect.

    Philippians 2:12

Good post. Noah was saved because he obeyed God. Those that did not became lost.

    God Gave Dominion to Man

Right. It doesn't mean we CONTROL the earth... It just means that we can do MORE than an animal can do, or that nature can do. We can protect ourselves from the heat...the cold...from hunger. But let's remember the dust bowl. Let's remember that persons are starving... And a hurricane is headed...

    Philippians 2:12

Work out, Work for, What's the difference? We have a whole bunch of persons that feel no works are necessary as we live here on earth. Seems Jesus has done it all so WE must not do anything...in fact in might be SINFUL to even help Him! I could post pages of verses on doing good works...

    God Gave Dominion to Man

    1. The dominion is over the fish and the birds and all the animals AND ALSO over earth itself. 2. God did not rescind that dominion because man still reigns on the earth... HOWEVER, when Adam sinned, man lost: His relationship with God His relationship with other men His relationship with...
