Hi Prism... Maybe you haven't been back to the catholic church in a long time. I had to leave because when I became saved, there was nothing in the church for me. Things have changed in recent times. The catholic church believes that one should be baptized to be saved... but it does not believe...

@Giuliano is right about Augustine and original sin. I also very much resent that the church accepted this teaching at that time. And am rather shocked that it did.... Have you studied original sin? It did not exist before as Augustine taught it. We do not INHERIT the sins of our fathers...

I agree and you've written some interesting thoughts. It almost sounds like you agree that the host is the real presence of Jesus.... Do we need a priest? Good question. You say no. Then how would the presence come into the wafer/host/cracker/bread? Would a pastor do this? Does God do this...

How can a person answer a good question when their theology is all wrong and nothing in scripture reconciles? THEY CANNOT. I give up after the 2nd try. (but I'm happy you don't).

I would be willing to accept that if a person abandons the faith it could mean that they never believed to begin with. This could be accepted by me going by personal experience...it seems unfathomable to me that I could ever abandon God...and this after many years of being a Christian and many...

Christians that examine their conscience are saved Christians because they care about their conscience. BTW, one can only trust the conscience IF it is properly trained.
