    Knowing Jesus 2

So...the topic. Is it about getting to know Jesus beyond the basics of the flesh in the way Paul was suggesting, as kind of a Jesus 2.0 version? (my favorite) Or did you mean to talk about the benefits of salvation and eternity for the mentally challenged/handicapped?

JOHN 3:1 ISRAEL MUST BE BORN AGAIN *****

What is it that you are arguing, that the chief priests who sat in Moses' seat, the leaders over [all] Israel did not come out for Jesus as if He were a criminal and insist that He be crucified? Or, are you arguing that a house divided is not still one house, and that Jesus came for the lost...

JOHN 3:1 ISRAEL MUST BE BORN AGAIN *****

That is correct. "Except" one is first born of water (born in natural birth), they cannot also be born [again] of the spirit of God. So, being born of water is not something they had to do a second time...hence Nicodemus' response to the idea of re-entering one's mother's womb. It is from there...

JOHN 3:1 ISRAEL MUST BE BORN AGAIN *****

He did not say that they had to be born again of water...but rather, since they were already born of water, they also needed to be born again of the spirit of God: First the natural, then the spiritual.

JOHN 3:1 ISRAEL MUST BE BORN AGAIN *****

Being born "of water" simply means being born of women, natural. Thus, "the natural, and afterward the spiritual." 1 Corinthians 15:46

JOHN 3:1 ISRAEL MUST BE BORN AGAIN *****

You are asking about things that are distant from the root, and therefore not easily discerned. It is not that Israel did not need to believe in Jesus specifically, but (as I said) they needed to believe in the coming of Messiah, which (as I said) they did. It is just that they did not...

JOHN 3:1 ISRAEL MUST BE BORN AGAIN *****

Ugh... No. 1) The kingdom of God and of heaven are One kingdom, which is within you. "Above" is not a place. 2) Christ came but for the house of Israel. Israel and Judah are One house. 3) Israel had Christ crucified.

JOHN 3:1 ISRAEL MUST BE BORN AGAIN *****

Doug...this is pure conjecture and not the truth. Do not attempt to teach or declare such things. 1) The kingdom is not on earth, but "of God", that kingdom that Christ has entered into, from which He comes again, "that where He is, we might be also." In other words, not here on the earth, but...

    The Prophetic Timeline in Scriptures:

Yes, all of that works, as Jesus did come in the flesh to walk the earth and was raised up the last day. It also reconciles with the other verses I quoted.

    The Prophetic Timeline in Scriptures:

This passage does not make void the others that I have quoted. If you will do a word study of it, you will see that the word "destroy" is better translated as "compass" or "encompass." Job more likely was saying that after the plagues he was presently suffering were through, after they had done...

    The Prophetic Timeline in Scriptures:

No, scripture does not say that at all. Just the opposite. I quoted it.

    The Prophetic Timeline in Scriptures:

God spoke the entire physical world into existence. Do you not suppose He can bring His Son home in "like manner" by the same word? Nonetheless, the scriptures say that the dust returns to the earth, which passes away with fervent heat. But the body of Christ is His Church until the end.

    The Prophetic Timeline in Scriptures:

No...He did not commit his flesh to the Father, only his spirit. The common misunderstanding here is how people perceive what is meant by His returning in "like manner." If one considers that Jesus was seen ascending in the flesh, it is easy to assume that he would return in the flesh. But that...

    The Prophetic Timeline in Scriptures:

Yes...or worms all talking about how words of butterflies apply to worms, rather than things to come. Etc. This would be a good example of applying a godly/kingdom word to life in the world...which is good. But it is more important to see that the godly principle is based in something greater...

    The Prophetic Timeline in Scriptures:

Okay, I don't want to hijack the thread, so keeping within that "timeline" topic...No, I don't understand it that way. By, yes, my point is to say there is both in the scriptures. But that both are mixed together and in need of "rightly dividing' what pertains to the flesh and this world from...
  16. ScottA

    The Prophetic Timeline in Scriptures:

Of course. It's just that you never hear the other side of "rightly dividing the word of truth." All you hear is people talking about the things of this world. That makes for a selfish application of the complete word of God, cherry-picking out just what pertains to life in the world. If we are...

    The Prophetic Timeline in Scriptures:

If we are interested in knowing and understanding the truth about God and the kingdom (both of which do not exist on a timeline), then context and perspective are completely off if we consider things on a timeline. On the contrary, considering things on a timeline would be man considering things...

Who is Nehushtan? Why isn't Christ Nehushtan? Why hasn't your pastor ever so much as mentioned...

Interesting... Brass is a "base" metal. The message is that God has given one base creature as a cure for the another base creature. Meaning that just as Satan had power from God and was brought low, so was Christ, the one fallen, the other raised up. This is the mystery of not worshiping...

    The Prophetic Timeline in Scriptures:

Wow...you personally made assertions by starting the thread, and you made it personal by going on to make your own personal claims. But when you are confronted, you turn and attack claiming that it is me and personal. Obviously, it is you and personal (not me at all)...as well as hypocritical...
