Yes, sadly most churches preach on how to "apply" biblical teachings to life in this world, rather than as the schoolmaster for teaching us heavenly things pertaining to the world to come.

There are not "true or fake" Christians. A Christian is a follower of Christ, of which there are some who fall by the way side, some on stony ground, some among thorns, and some on good ground. But only those who are changed are born again of the spirit of God.

According to that passage, that would mean you are of "the dead in Christ", which means you would have lived and died before the resurrection of Christ. So...your first go-round is a fail. Want to try again?
