BAPTISM SAVES, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS"

Church should have been written with a small c or the replies will be correct....

BAPTISM SAVES, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS"

Hi JD, Just came across this... I don't know if @Marymog has replied, but I will. It would be interesting to know what you mean by a false tenet before answering, but I'll take my chances. The CC believes that it holds the entire truth because of Apostolic Succession. If we want to be...

    Paul And The Law

How does a YES answer dance around it? Why can't you just answer YES? It is, after all, a commitment.

    Paul And The Law

You can't answer the simple question I've also asked you a few times. NO ONE on this forum is saying that we are saved by works. We are saved by grace THROUGH faith.... Here's @brakelite 's question again: The question is, are we obliged to obey God's commandments, or not? It's a simple...

BAPTISM SAVES, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS"

I agree with you and @Marymog . We certainly should be baptized as Jesus instructed. I do, however, understand that if we die and are not baptized we will still get to heaven IF we were followers of Jesus. There is a baptism of desire.... I did not mean that we should not get baptized...

    Paul And The Law

I agree. But also there is a lot of sincerity on the part of the believer. I just fail to understand how biblical scholars don't explain better....or why. Maybe the truth is too tough for nowadays?

    having break down

I'm so sorry for you David. I know someone with bi-polar...only 24 years old. You do need medical help. But why self-medicate? Please see a psychiatrist. We're all praying for your strength. I thank God you know Him. It'll get better.... God bless you.

This keeping people deceived,,,,I don't know if it's intentional. You do?

Maybe I'll find you down there and drag you out.

    Paul And The Law

This is one of them. I said there were a few. Sorry. This won't work. Jesus KNEW mankind was lost. He cried over Jerusalem because His own brethren did not respond to Him. However, the above does not respond to our perception of what salvation is. Think about this before responding. The...

    Paul And The Law

God from the beginning of time made a way of escape for us. Genesis 3:15 I'm not saying that we are not saved by believing in Jesus. What I am saying is that it's a concept completed by those that came after Jesus. Check through the N.T. and see how many times Jesus spoke of salvation and then...

    Paul And The Law

I said works do not save us...This was my comment: Agreed. This goes back to: Works do not save us. BUT, after we're saved,,,we are expected to obey God. (I get heat for this, but it's what the bible says...) And in reply, you posted Ephesians 2:10 My point is that if we do not believe, we...

    Paul And The Law

I don't kid around about faith Enoch. You should know this by now. Jesus DID NOT understand salvation the way we understand it today. Know why? Because it was made up by man...not by Jesus. He said a couple of things on salvation,,,about a hundred on belonging to the Kingdom. But we choose...

    Paul And The Law

Very nice post. I do want to say that some sins are easier to overcome than others. Satan does seem to know our weaknesses... Sanctification is a life-long process and as long as we're willing, the Spirit will help us.

    Paul And The Law

There is no escape clause. There's no such thing as Works Salvation...I don't know why this has to be repeated continually. Jesus tells the rich young man to keep the commandments because Jesus didn't seem to understand salvation as we do today. A concept started by Paul, maybe? Not that...

    Paul And The Law

Ephesians 2:10 Good. I hope this means you agree with me?
  17. GodsGrace

    Paul And The Law

Why are we so afraid of words like: Expected to obey Must obey God has always demanded obedience. We could sugar-coat it all we want,,,but He still the same God and still demands obedience. This doesn't mean we will always obey...but let's at least say the truth? I also kind of agree with...

    Paul And The Law

Agreed. This goes back to: Works do not save us. BUT, after we're saved,,,we are expected to obey God. (I get heat for this, but it's what the bible says...)

    Paul And The Law

Following God does create happiness and peace. Adhering to the Decalogue brings peace of mind. I don't mean by this, as some will understand, that it's possible to follow them all, and all the time, but certainly knowing God and having the help of the Holy Spirit sure does cut out a lot of sin...

    Paul And The Law

I can't argue with this. I'm happy you can do it. Most can't. A thought alone is not a sin, BTW. We can't help our thoughts. You do have a good understanding, so I'll stop right here. Far be it for me to discourage a brother that seems to have his faith on a strong plank. P.S. I also love...
