    Jesus and Commands

Agreed! I like how you explain things. Some say we don't have to do anything because Jesus has done it all. You must know by now that I don't adhere to this thinking. Believe and faith are action words.

Does Jesus give people a 2nd chance after death?

There's a problem with this concept RT. If the Holy Spirit teaches, why don't we all know the same concepts? I can accept any concept, even OSAS, if it's taught by some churches...but some persons (not you - you're perfect) come up with their very own private theology. This I don't care for...

Does Jesus give people a 2nd chance after death?

Oh my. I was raised Catholic. I was taught many things I don't agree with anymore. When I say "I was taught" I don't really mean that. I mean that I don't come to conclusions on my own... I learn from churches, from theologians, from those that know more than me. I might agree or disagree (I...

    Jesus and Commands

LOL Yes. God is not blinded. But by putting on Christ, God sees us IN HIS SON...as you said but in a different way. God knows we sin and he sees all we do,,,but He sees our holiness through Jesus. No pretend anything --- God sees all. Just today in a bible study we were speaking about loving...

    Jesus and Commands

Sure. What's easier: To tell someone they should go to church every week and they'll be saved... or To tell someone they must give their heart to God? The first one is easier but more difficult. The second one is more difficult but easier. (everything is difficult without the Holy Spirit, and...

    Jesus and Commands

I learned that those in the O.T. were righteous of their own acts done in the faith they had in God. In the N.T. we receive our righteousness from Jesus, even though we are required to keep the laws. The laws are never abolished in any Covenant.

    Jesus and Commands

I can't remember these terms from the bible. You mean the CONCEPT is from the bible?? I like the idea of putting on Christ myself. Mathew 22:11-14 Romans 13:14 Galatians 3:27; 4:21 Galatians 2:19-21 God sees His Son and not our sinful selves. Or, we could say that He loves us through His Son.

    Jesus and Commands

I remember our conversations now... I believe we agree on pretty much everything... the above sounds good. Do you understand laws of righteousness to be laws that make us "right with God"? (if followed).

    Jesus and Commands

Understood and agreed. I liked this: So God judges our faithfulness...and righteousness....by how we treat others. Very good ! Also, let's explain righteousness... Being right with God. Simple.

    Jesus and Commands

The 10 commandments DO require love to fulfill them...this is why the Mosaic Covenant failed --- Jesus had not come yet to leave us with the Holy Spirit and to teach us HOW to obey the commandments. We know that will power does not work very well.... Would you agree?

    Poll Bible

LOL It's what I think of this book NOW! ( I've never read the whole book through)

    Jesus and Commands

Interesting. Jesus IS GOD. So if one follows HIM, the holiness requirement, as you call it, is completed in this action. Where did you learn the terms holiness and righteousness requirement?

Does Jesus give people a 2nd chance after death?

It's a valid point however for a thread. There's a church near me that teaches we CAN be saved after death. I mean, could you envision the scene? I've described it and won't bore readers by doing this again...but we could write a script on this. I would like to address your statement on John...

Does Jesus give people a 2nd chance after death?

Sure bb. But what gives HIM the idea?? (that some return to THIS life).

    Jesus and Commands

Hey. It sounds perfect to me! Not only do I get it,,,I used to teach this to little people, miniature humans - before they grow up and start getting strange ideas ... like maybe God didn't create everything they see. Would you care to expound on the righteousness commandments since I've never...

    Poll Bible

Yes, I know John Foxe but have not read his book, but it's a well-known book. I guess Catholics should know! They have literature going all the way back to the beginning. Thanks for posting this and welcome to the forum!

According to @larry2 in post no. 62 it seems as though John died in Ephesus. He was banished to Patmos for preaching the gospel...I always thought he died there too. (who can know for sure!)

    Jesus and Commands

Very good post. But could you do the following: The law was written on the tables of stone. The law is written on our heart. But the Law is still written, is it not? So what exactly are you saying? Do we obey the law? Some say we don't have to because we're under the New Covenant. And what...
