Where in the world are you?

I have nothing against Manhattan, some really nice people live there...I can think of two or three. BUT... No letters of complaint please.... I am a Nu Yawka, after all.

Where does it say the heaven has departed as a scroll?

    Mother Teresa

I don't think John meant everything literally. For instance, John says the city had NO NEED of the sun...it doesn't say the sun didn't exist anymore. GOD gave light to the city. Because evil was gone and only God's light existed. It's what I think...I've never studied this and won't insist. I...

Where in the world are you?

No mystery with me. It's listed right under my name. Why do I like it here: It's where I was born. Beautiful mountains, which I love. About an hour from the beach. People are laid back. We know lots of persons. A very nice city just 45 minutes away. Near important tourist destinations -- easy...

Do you really know Jesus and our Father?

Well, amen to this. I do find a big problem with two theories, which I won't go into so that the thread is not derailed. I agree that we are not saved by our doctrine, although we do love to argue about it, don't we? God must have a good chuckle every now and then (or maybe more often).

Paradise is Abraham's Bossom. So you believe we're all going to Abraham's Bossom, as in Luke 16, to await the end of the world?
  14. GodsGrace

    Mother Teresa

I THINK I agree. I always thought the New Jerusalem is the New Earth AFTER the end of times. But, as I said, I don't really know.

I know the CCC is not the easiest book to understand. It seemed as though you were saying that every time a catholic sins, he becomes unsaved. I'm sorry if I misunderstood you. I don't plan on discussing this forever, it's just a misconception Protestants have and I hate for it to be repeated...

    Mother Teresa

Well, that makes two that don't believe we're going where we belong immediately upon death. I do not agree with you however, regarding what Jesus meant when He said THIS DAY. Jesus said what He meant, THIS DAY means This Day. Today, this very day. Theologians have pondered what He might...

    Mother Teresa

The waiting place was in Luke 16...The Rich Man and Lazarus. Didn't Jesus go there to free the prisoners? Didn't He tear open the veil of the temple when He died on the cross? Doesn't Paul say that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord? And isn't the New Jerusalem the New...
  18. GodsGrace

    Mother Teresa

Yes. Isn't the New Jerusalem coming at the end of the world? I don't know too much about the end times, but there's a heaven in between. The New Jerusalem is when we get our glorified bodies. I think.

First, the above does not speak to what we were talking about. You said we lose our salvation every time we sin. The above doen't reply to that. In fact, it is not catholic doctrine... Second, in your last paragraph you speak about eternal security as if the CC believed in it. It does NOT...

    Mother Teresa

I wish you would have posted it. Do you mean that we are BEING saved? This is true. IOW, we can know RIGHT NOW that we are saved, but we cannot know we'll be saved 20 years from now or 6 months from now. If we still have faith in Jesus and believe in Him and follow Him, then the CC does teach...
