Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

Taken, I'M not calling the mind the soul. I posted a diagram for you. What more could I do?? I've learned from those who know, I don't know who YOU have learned from. Maybe the Holy Spirit. You say I've learned from men...what are you? A man..and yet you have your very own ideas. I'll...

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

I hope you understand someday that if I live a life of sin, I cannot be saved. If I was saved, I've lost my salvation. God and sin cannot live in the same space. The word believe includes in it the idea of obeying. Check it out.

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

Here's my situation: I've been married a really long time. Got married when I was really young. Everything worked out great. Two kids, great. Both married. 5 grandchildren. I don't even smoke, let alone do heroine. It was just an extreme example. You say things that don't sound like mainline...

The natural man does not possess spirit.

    Could you explain this scripture?

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

So you're saying that positionally, in God, you do not sin. In 1 John the expression "will continue to sin" means that we will not live a life of sin. The meaning is established,,,it's not something we have to wonder about. Why would Jesus ask us to confess our sins if we are positionally not...

    So if I'm born again, and then miss my life full of sin and decide to return to it, God will "chasten" me by making me become sick from all the heroine I inject into my body,,,but I'll still be saved?;

I'll tell you this Taken. The NT is very easy to understand. Man tends to make it difficult. You're doing the same. Making up your own rules, words and ideas. Christianity was here a long time before you were.

I see. So maybe you were right... I am a carnal Christian because I still sin and I ask God's forgiveness, as John said to do.

    You believe you never sin?

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

Wow. I see you've come up with an explanation for all those difficult verses in the NT that speak to the loss of salvation! No one is really saved until they're saved according to YOUR description of salvation. Giving you a great way out for explaining those that decide to leave God. Make it...

But then what's the difference between a carnal Christian and sinning? When we sin, we're ignoring the effect of our spirit on our will (which is in the soul).

We only have one will. It resides in the soul and is definitely affected by our spirit once we are born again. I believe I explained this better to taken. You called me a carnal Christian? What's that?
  14. GodsGrace

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

We have the spirit and the soul. We often refer to this as the flesh and the spirit. The flesh being the soul and the spirit being the spirit (of God awakened in us).

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

Taken, your posts are too long and leave me with too much to handle. I wish you'd cut them down in size. The way you understand the heart is not right. The heart does NOT THINK. It has already been determined by minds better than ours how we are made up. Some believe in the dichotomy of man...

    Are you catholic?

I agree with your first paragraph. The priest drinks of the wine because at the Last Supper Jesus instituted the Mass and He said, this is My body---this is My blood. So both the bread and the wine must be eaten. BTW, the wine must be pure with nothing added to it - no water and no chemicals...

It seemed to me that you were saying that you switched to the CC and liked it because it was deterministic, as you also understood things to be. Sorry if I misunderstood you. Doesn't seem like a big deal to me... Here's what you said: This conversation is interesting because I am realizing...

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

In your second paragraph you're talking about eternal security. As you must know by now, I believe in free will. Just as we've become connected to God through the awakened spirit within us, we can also walk away from God, to put it your way. And I do agree with how you described it...we...

Are you saying the Catholic Church is deterministic?? The Catholic Church believes in free will.
  20. GodsGrace

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

Exactly what it's about. As long as we're in the body of Christ, we're saved, if we leave the body how could we possibly be saved? The sealing of the holy Spirit is true for as long as we desire it.
