Buying and selling in the last days

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." John 14:26

Question for Catholics or those who have left the Catholic church

Eben so mein Herr, daß ist, mein Bruder... I was only slightly familiar with the old German script from school. Then about 5 years ago I bought an old Luther Bible to replace my badly worn German Bible. It was in the old script. I went to the Internet, found and copied a break down of the...

    JOHN 13:4 FOOT WASHING

It's been many years ago now... but I had some wonderful experiences in washing people's natural feet, but as has been said there is much more to it than that. I then add to this thread a few verses I collected on this subject quite a few years ago: Why was it that Jesus washed His apostles’...

I wonder where this might lead...

If we can accept the estimated time frames in as per one of my Bibles, it shows the events of book of Jonah occurred about 150 years prior to those of the book of Nahum which speaks specifically and prophetically about Nineveh calling it the "bloody city" [3:1] ... "And it shall come to pass...

Question for Catholics or those who have left the Catholic church

    The mark of the beast:

Our society, and yes, our churches, are filled with confusion, because, for too many, God is not really in it. This forum is not exempted from such confusion. If we could keep confusion out of here, why could we not also keep it out of every person residing in the flesh on planet Earth? Even...

What does anyone consider truths essential for followers of Jesus?

I was simply seeking clarification to go along with the OP question. I believe in One God, but am soliciting input from others to help clarify for all of us hopefully what He would consider essential in every aspect of God's plan for us.

    When God is Silent

"Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us."Psalm 62:8

    When God is Silent

Yes, His Word never ceases... but sometimes our hearing is obscured or stopped up for various reasons, usually, if not always due to our own fault.

    No Righteousness = No Heaven

Yes, the fig leaves were man's own feeble attempt to cover his shame. God improved on that right away for the short run [skins] and then for long term finally with the coming of Jesus and the pouring out the Holy Spirit.

    The mark of the beast:

Anyone coming here, new believer or old, not led by the Holy Spirit will most certainly be confused. For this reason it is essential to follow God always: "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints." I Cor 14:33

    Luther's Theology of the Cross

God uses whoever is available to accomplish that which is warranted or effectively requested by a person's actions or inactions. This includes curses as well as blessings. There are curses in place. No one needs to take hold of them, but as we certainly know, many do...!

What does anyone consider truths essential for followers of Jesus?

So in short would you say it is essential to believe there is only One God?

Jesus wanted to live not to die

Perhaps not on all of the details, but we are seemingly generally in agreement here. I try never to state my case lightly... Rather I continue to delve, reading and studying and talking with God. Especially now that I have been put outside of any man's church, some restrictions that did apply...

Jesus wanted to live not to die

We were not there then? When is then for us and for Him? What is time to God? See Ecc 3:1-8 What was it that the disciples saw when they first began to follow him? What was it that they encountered later in him? Yes, that could be the 1st appearance, but consider also the 1st and 2nd touch on...

    The mark of the beast:

Yes, it does make one smile... for Paul was also admitting that he too at times was subject to the ways of his flesh. The test is not finished until God calls, time! We may have the Spirit of God, but do we always walk in the Spirit? Was that why he said it that way?

Jesus wanted to live not to die

I seldom, if ever, look to some future date for all of us. Rather the changing, if it occurs, I see in the here and now while we still have time. It is now we are not to be asleep as the disciples who slept in Gethsemene while Jesus prayed. Jesus spoke once to Peter about when he was converted...

Jesus wanted to live not to die

Too many possibilities in that verse to use it to confirm the physical end of him one way or the other... without a definite revelation on it, which I have not had. Oh, I have received a message through it, but it has not to do with his physical death. It does mean that we should not be so...

    When God is Silent

"Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!" Matt 18:7
