Why is Christianity so focused on Sin?

I already answered that. I'll educate you again: Psalm 37:39-40 39 The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord, their refuge in a time of distress. 40 The Lord helps and delivers them; He will deliver them from the wicked and WILL SAVE THEM because they take refuge in Him. Pay CLOSE...

Why is Christianity so focused on Sin?

WRONG. Let's see what Webster's Collegiate Dictionary has to say: Definition of redeem transitive verb 1a : to buy back : repurchase b : to get or win back 2: to free from what distresses or harms: such as a : to free from captivity by payment of ransom b : to extricate from or help...

And, as I said before - the problem with literalists like YOU is that you simply don't understand context. Context will always be a hurdle for you until you educate yourself about the idioms of 1st century Jewish culture - AND the fact that Sola Scriptura is a man made invention. Once you get...

Why is Christianity so focused on Sin?

You have absolutely NO idea what "redeem" means.

Why is Christianity so focused on Sin?

Hey - if the truth of Scripture bothers you - just say so. And - NO, you never refuted these verses. As for your question - it's about going to Heaven. Read S*L*O*W*L*Y . . . Psalm 37:39-40 39 The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord, their refuge in a time of distress. 40 The Lord...

Why is Christianity so focused on Sin?

Wrong. You keep talking as though Jesus only paid for PART of the bill. He paid for ALL of it. If I choose not to follow Him doesn't take away from the fact that He PAID for me.

Why is Christianity so focused on Sin?

Psalm 37:39-40 is a wonderful passage about those who REMAIN faithful and endure to the end. The sad fact is that many, if not most will not . . . Romans 11:22 “See, then, the kindness and severity of God: severity toward those who fell, but God's kindness to you, provided you REMAIN in his...

Why is Christianity so focused on Sin?

You are confusing Redemption with Salvation. They are NOT the same thing. Jesus redeemed every person who ever lived and every person who ever WILL live. He paid the price for ALL of the sins of the world - not just SOME of them. This is redemption. Whether I choose to follow Christ or not -...

Why is Christianity so focused on Sin?

Yes, grace is a gift. HOWEVER, if we refuse it, we lose it. Grave sin that goes unrepented for and unconfessed cuts us off from God's grace. This is referred to as deadly or "mortal" sin (1 John 5:16-17).

Why is Christianity so focused on Sin?

Salvation is when we make it to Heaven. There can be no other definition. When we are born again at Baptism, we have saving grace. However, we may stumble or completely fall away and LOSE it (Matt. 5:13, Matt. 7:21, Rom. 11:22, Heb. 10:26-27, 2 Peter 2:20-22, 2 Peter 3:17, Rev. 3:5, Rev. 22:19).

Why is Christianity so focused on Sin?

And, unless you want to continue to spout the false Calvinist doctrine of Limited Atonement - He paid for EVERYONE. Jesus paid the price for sin, thereby purchasing our freedom . This is REDEMPTION. We must either choose to cooperate with that grace or reject it.

    Crucifixion Day

How is the season of Lent "nonsense"??
  14. BreadOfLife

    Crucifixion Day

EVERY Lent, desperate people come up with all sorts of nonsense - from "rediscoveries" of the Gospel of Judas to the DaVinci Code to the timing of the Crucifixion - and EVERY year you're proven wrong. No matter what your friends tell you - ignorance is NOT bliss . . .

    Resurrection Day

"Jesus Christ's teachings trump Esther's." This is the most asinine statement I have ever heard because it is ALL the Word of GOD. God doesn't write contradictory statements.. The OT was written down by JEWS. The Gospel of Matthew was written by a JEW. Jews reckoned the day as beginning on...

Why is Christianity so focused on Sin?

Salvation is a gift that requires our cooperation. When we don't cooperate with God's grace, we LOSE it. When we DO cooperate with God's grace - it can be restored. Are you really that dense that I have to keep repeating myself?

Why is Christianity so focused on Sin?

In post #34 - YOU made the following statement: "You have sin and you have the person. The sin is paid for. All of it. The person is not redeemed until they are in Christ." You created TWO redemptions. There is only ONE. Either Jesus paid for it ALL - or He paid for nothing. You are...

Why is Christianity so focused on Sin?

I'll dumb it down a little more . . . - We come to Christ in Baptism. We are saved. - We sin and our relationship with God is damaged. - We repent and confess our sin and our relationship is restored. - If we refuse to repent and confess - we LOSE our salvation. I really hope that is...

Why is Christianity so focused on Sin?

And there you go again truing to create TWO redemptions out of one. The Bible doesn't talk about TWO redemptions. It doesn't say that Jesus paid for sin - and then He paid for the believer. He paid for it ALL.
