My Methodist Church is leaving the denomination.

That is not the true church. The idea that an all-powerful deity would found a church on the power of a breath, a puny man is absurd.

So many contradictions ... if there is no license to sin, which I agree with, then, there must be consequences and death is the ultimate consequence.

The exact opposite is what Jesus said in Matthew 7:21.

Then OSAS is a license to sin - and universalism is correct doctrine.

As Ferris pointed out earlier, this is milk, not solid food.

If It does not totally deny why Jesus told people to Sin No More; then why did Jesus day this?

It does not matter who judges. If there is only lip service faith it is dead.

No. You are falsely equating believers with unbelievers (who once believed). You have to ask yourself why does Hebrews talk about the sin that has no atoning sacrifice?

Romans 6:12 The Voice 12 Don’t invite that insufferable tyrant of sin back into your mortal body so you won’t become obedient to its destructive desires.

God certainly did say exactly that with the vine that does not produce fruit

I call BS on that. Only by actually obeying God - not merely suggestions or exhortations - is your faith demonstrated to be more than lip service.

Contradicts scripture. Romans 6:12 The Voice 12 Don’t invite that insufferable tyrant of sin back into your mortal body so you won’t become obedient to its destructive desires.

So goes OSAS doctrine. Yet, you reject universalism. I’ll go with what the Bible says, generally, and Jesus, in particular. Romans 6:12 The Voice 12 Don’t invite that insufferable tyrant of sin back into your mortal body so you won’t become obedient to its destructive desires.

Agreed - as long as one stays obedient. For some reason, you are not taking any responsibility for obeying the many commands given to believers and the many verses that say failure to obey is death, that lip service is insufficient.

When they return to the sins of the flesh. Specifically, when they fail to repent of their sin.

We are adopted. We can choose not to accept our adopted inheritance.
  17. Wrangler

    Once Saved Always Saved

For some reason, lip service ranks high with OSAS. Jesus tells us and God tells us over and over again it is obedience that matters. Action is how you know it is real. This is the lesson from the OT. It is real until their actions bring the wrath of God on them.

Totally untrue! We have to first put in the work of actually believing. We have to first humble ourselves in truly inviting him to be our Lord and Savior. Here is where your contradiction is revealed. We can undo our own work that is a prerequisite to salvation.

Ferris and I do not promote a works based salvation but no matter what I say, that is what you hear.

This totally denies believers can and do sin. It totally denies why Jesus told people to Sin No More.
