The verses you cite do not take away from John 20:17, Jesus is going to his God. The only God is Jesus' God. Please have the courage to respond to John 20:17 instead of ignoring it in favor of verses you prefer.

And in the case of my analogy, what does not seem applicable to you?

Moving the goalposts. You don't want to accept answers when they do not conform to your doctrine. There is nothing in the Bible that says believe once and you are all set. Lip service will not get you past the gates of heaven. There are many verses that say keep believing to the end. Is that...

And that summarizes the entire 190 page thread. :)

I trust no further analysis is necessary but to show how Tong and marks twist what Ferris has said. Such Appeals to Strawman shows the weakness of your position. The analogy I use is that we are all drowning. Jesus is the Savior and throws us a life preserver and we can have total trust and...

The same reason to keep believing anything - Evidence. See Evidence To Be Seen. Oh, put God to the test and see how kind he is! See for yourself the way his mercies shower down on all who trust in him. Psalm 34:8

LOL. Talk about projecting creative interpretation! I've seen pretzel rationalizations on these boards that are something to behold. It is hardly possible to construct a more anti-trinitarian statement than 1 Corinthians 8:6, which reads in relevant part. For us, there is one God, the Father...

Because that is all Ferris and I are saying and are bashed relentlessly for it.

Nonsense. Jesus never taught the trinity but did say he was going to his God. The only God is Jesus' God. See John 20:17.

What part of "equating holy with unholy, right with wrong, good with evil is incorrect," do you not get? What part of "coveting is a sin," do you not get? I have repeatedly made the point crystal clear. Try answering the many questions posed below. "Equality" is the word the adversary has...

In my opinion, this is one of the things a new Christian wrestles with: happiness v joyfulness. Happiness root word is happenstance, which depends on circumstances, which ebbs and flows with the waves of life's ups and downs. The gift of God's Spirit is joy, regardless of circumstances. Praise...

Welcome to the forums Chandler. God views us as beloved children, forgiven for past transgressions who has power, love and grace to gift to us. 22 The Holy Spirit produces a different kind of fruit: unconditional love, joy, peace, patience, kindheartedness, goodness, faithfulness, 23...

I'm not sure what list you are referring to. Not sure why you say that given Hebrews 8:12? 12 I will be merciful when they fail, and I will erase their sins and wicked acts out of My memory as though they had never existed.” Hebrews 8:12 (VOICE)

Appeal to Nirvana. It seems you are setting an expectation designed to fail God's Word. We don't need to know EVERYTHING about God to know ... Repeating the mantra 'The Lord also works in mysterious ways' undermines Curtis' valid point; that Scripture reveals all things pertaining to...

I don’t know who this post is directed to but the idea the OT emphasized obedience to God over and over again, Jesus being the ultimate manifestation of obedience to God but then obedience is irrelevant seems off.

How would you like it to go?

Although there is no Scriptural verse prohibiting drug use, I am guided by my Bible Study leaders common refrain, “It’s all about God’s glory.” How does doing drugs bring glory to God?

AS IF there is something wrong with one living up to one’s responsibilities.

Again projecting doctrine onto text. There are no 3 persons called God in Scripture. One God alone is the the Shema.

No. The LORD is God. Jesus is our Lord. Capital. Lowercase. Not absolute equality.
