And that descriptive phrase is usually applied to combat soldiers. Zeal is good if it is rightly directed. What is right but that which is Good? Jesus said that there was only One Good that being God!

@"ByGrace" Give God the glory!

I am not Helen but would like to respond with my agreements and/or differences: Probably we are close, if not the same, on our beginnings and direction. At one time some years ago I always jumped at the opportunity to defend or project my own beliefs about the trinity. I have certainly back...

Yes, this is how it was with my wife and I as well. We did not want a completely secular marriage so we hunted around San Jose for churches with a protestant willing to marry us even though we were both nominally Catholic. Not one of the many we asked would perform the ceremony unless we were...

@Triumph1300 I don't about all of the numbers. I've studied the subject many times, but my answer is really a very simple one. I started praying in tongues when I received the Holy Ghost in 1976. It was an irregular thing that I did not understand at the first, but for many years now it has...

What was it that became flesh? Was it the pages of a book written down by men, even if the words in the book were written by men as they were inspired by God to do so? I would think not...

Indeed, some verses read or memorized without understanding from God could lead to serious consequences. Please understand that I am not suggesting that memorizing scripture is wrong. On the contrary, but memorizing a dead thing that stays dead in us is likely to kill us or others around us...

God is NOT the author of confusion. When believers hold conflicting and even contradictory beliefs if they have the Holy Spirit in them it is because some of them or all of them are in some measure quenching the Holy Spirit of God. The result is a mixed answer consisting of some truth and some...

"For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And he went out about the third hour, and saw others...

If anyone memorizes a Bible verse, [any one verse chosen], is it automatically alive within him?

@Nancy Welcome to the forum!

Just so! As if we who have experienced it [if we have] could describe it to someone who never has[even if he says that he has] and he would understand and agree... Hmmm?

Because we have the Word, which is Jesus. And we have the Holy Spirit which will bring that which is dead to Life with us.

But then we come to what it really means to be "in Christ". Just saying the words could be like the drunk in the bar casually saying the name of Jesus as if it were a curse word. Herein is much of the problem for many people and especially those who are supposedly called by God to instruct us so...

But so many presume on it all being done leaving us with effectively nothing to do to be with God always. What I see on the other hand is that Jesus opened the Way [highway of holiness] and the means to travel along that Way has also been provided. Rejection of the necessity for us to do...

I am not doubting your statement at all, but still... "Jesus wept".

LOL, yes, the blood of Jesus is certainly "unorthodox", isn't it? Why is that this godless society of ours [these United States of America for one example] is not looking more and more all of the time like Jesus as only few able to see him... in spite of statements of so many to the contrary?

You would have to know what "better food" is. Yes, there are people who may know the answer with regard to physical food, but even if we are able to know who they are there would still remain at least two other problems. 1) Is it possible to obtain that food anywhere to which I have access? And...

So then end of discussion for us. Give God the glory!

Seemingly what was shed on us that made the difference was the Holy Ghost: "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our...
