    An Unknown Tongue

Have you ever regretted having said something? I have. Have you ever changed your mind? I have. I am sorry if you were offended by my choice of words. On the other hand with your attitude as it is I won't discuss tongues and cloven tongues with you. I would like to know is why you always seem...

    The Word

Oh I regularly use online searches when I am on the computer, but sometimes I cannot remember enough about a verse to input a search. I just know that there is a verse. With my Bible, the paper book, I can often find it when I cannot do a computer search.

    the RCC ratlines after WWII

Good! It sounds like you got all of that one. I probably have few dozen more from him, but not all of them are on precisely the same subject. However since he lives in Aleppo a lot of it relates to Syria. As late as June of last year he was writing a lot of these things on another forum to which...

    Surely I'm a Wacko!

@ScottA We are supposed to live by faith, but when we actually do and want to share our vision of the things of God with some others, it will often get us into trouble, will it not? Some there [and certainly here as well] have decided what a Christian and what a Christian is not. If a person...

    An Unknown Tongue

Exactly! I believe you and I had this discussion before. In addition to the common languages of the people for each ethnic group and/or some political entities, there are other groups which have there own little language... such medical jargon, or the Social Security jargon I spoke when I was...

    the RCC ratlines after WWII

To me as a believer it had not been important. That is, it does not directly affect me in my walk with God... or at least it has not to this point. I recognize that for others it might be different. When I was reading some of it today before making the above post it hit me differently than it...

    An Unknown Tongue

It is necessary to interpret when a person is unable to understand the natural language of the message or the hidden underlying message of God within words spoken in his own language... if the message is intended for that person. Did Jesus speak to the people in a naturally foreign language? Why...

    the RCC ratlines after WWII

@APAK I will post only this one since it is not mine and the person is not a member and does still live elsewhere: Since it was posted on another public forum I have no qualms about posting a copy of it here. If you want more send me a PM.

    the RCC ratlines after WWII

My memory is not good these days, but a couple of years ago on another Christian forum, a Syrian Christian confirmed this artificial "civil war" instigated in his country by outsiders... Probably I saved his words on my computer somewhere, but to find it...? Thanks for the information...

    The Word

Our little lump of flesh may be returning to the dust, but it is still part of what God placed in our care for the time He has given us. Should we starve it and abuse it? What kind of stewards are we? "... Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication...

    The Word

Give God all of the glory, Pia! Don't worry too much about precise quotation so long as what you say is what He says. I post a lot of scriptures, but I copy and paste to be certain people understand and to minimize typing errors. While I often know where to find a verse, there are not many I...

    An Unknown Tongue

But I have not made up my mind absolutely on everything. Over the years I have been serving God my mind and heart have been changed on many things. I live by faith rather than by knowledge although I believe I do have some knowledge. The trouble is we don't always know the difference between...

    The Word

Oh yes and here is exactly how it is written in my Bible: "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life." John 5:39-40 I may have already known the meaning of those words, but your...

    Should Priests Get Married?

I certainly agree with this. In my own experience I never knew a nun who used corporal punishment. On the other hand I had more than one in public school who regularly used the ruler, a leather belt or a leather strap. It was a different time.

The numbers were small compared to the others you mention, but the Jehovah's Witnesses suffered terribly in Nazi Germany, but because they stood their ground based on their beliefs openly criticizing the Nazis. Unlike the Jews all they had to do was keep their mouths shut and they would have...

    An Unknown Tongue

My point was if a person came up to you and spoke to you in a language you had never learned or even heard before it might sound like gibberish to you, but if he spoke in the same words to someone from his homeland it would make perfect sense to that person. We should not be quick to put God...

Who is worthy to open the book?

A thought just came to me on this. Consider the ministry of Jesus. In the very beginning of it, everyone sought him and was spellbound by his words. Even those sent by his enemies said : "... Never man spake like this man." John 7:46 Was that not the milk, the sweet milk, but later as the...

Who is worthy to open the book?

I would like to hear about this no "Way" ever being closed... Did not Adam and Eve effectively have the Door closed behind as they were placed on the outside?

Who is worthy to open the book?

Yes, I hear lots of answers, but they are often someone else's answers. Are they correct? God does know but without a confirmation from Him should we presume? I read and I pray and study and then also listen to preachers and teachers who surely must have the right answer. I have latched onto...

Who is worthy to open the book?

Yes, when we do it God's Way, then there is Life. When we do it our way, man's way, then there is death. Adam & Eve began the death thing and until Jesus opened the closed Way there was no way to Life. Of those who did choose Life getting themselves cleaned out, they failed to continue... Then...
